Topic No. 1

Development of an Automobile Emergency Rescue Mobile Application for Android Devices

Importance and Significance of the project/study:


The purpose of conducting this study is to provide aid to the people in the occurrence of a
vehicular inconveniences or when the motorists or car owners cannot manage to go to an auto
workshop. The primary goal is to make an app that could be use by the motorists or car owners by
being able to contact the nearest mechanic or auto workshop. At present, traffic queues are an
extensive problem on the road from practically anywhere in the country. Correspondingly,
vehicular halt and mishaps are unpredictable. This proposed application could help people when
their car or motorcycle broke down, they could contact the nearest accessible, registered mechanic
or auto workshop along their area.
Scope and Limitations of the study:
Scope
1. Can accept booking for emergency engine repair services or any kind of auto repair services as
long as the responding mechanic know otherwise could do the service.
2. Can also use if the car or motorcycle owner does not know any neighboring mechanic or auto
workshops that could do the service.
3. The application also consists of messaging feature that the user could resort to contact the
mechanic or auto workshop so that they can discuss the problem encountered by the user and what
tools should be brought by the mechanic or the shop.
4. The mechanic is required to send pictures of what services the mechanic provided to know the
total of payment that the user should pay to the responding mechanic.
5. The mechanic or auto workshop should have a PayPal account along with the user. If ever there
is an instance that the user would like to request a refund or any complaints about the provided
service by the responding mechanic or workshop.
6. The user and mechanic should provide phone number to the application; it will receive a
confirmation code to identify if the account is already operational or in use.
Limitation
1. The application’s service covers only about 10-kilometer radius within the area of the contacting
user
2. It also depends to the mechanic or auto workshop if they will accept the service. The application
cannot assure the user that all nearby mechanic within the zone is capable of responding the
emergency service.
3. The payment method is basically cash or thru PayPal only; the mechanic or auto workshop
should have a PayPal account along with the user. The payment method is only in Cash or PayPal,
there are no other method besides the prior specified means.

Expected Output:

An Android application that the motorists or car owners could use, its users can contact
the nearest and accessible mechanic within the area to help the motorist when unpredictable road
inconveniencies occur.
