1. I think the reason why Steve Jobs was picked out of all the successful and rich
people is because even after facing lots of problems he was open minded, he

2. The speech was done in Stanford University
3. The commencement speech was for Steve Jobs to be able to share his experience,
values and advice for the new graduates.
4. Steve Jobs wrapped up the three lessons in three stories. He talked about his life
and how he connected the dots. In his first story he talked about how he was able to
focus on other things rather than having normal classes. Since he dropped out of the
normal classes he was able to study calligraphy. Little did he know that after 10
years he was able to apply the lessons he learned in calligraphy class to the
Macintosh computer, which became the first computer with beautiful calligraphy. In
his second story he talked about how he got kicked out of the empire he built. Even
after Jobs was kicked out of the company he started he didn’t let it drag his life down.
But instead he started over and turned his life around, he started a company named
NeXT, another named Pixar and met the love of his life. Then Apple bought NeXT
which led him back to Apple. He said “Sometimes life hits you in the head with a
brick. Don’t lose faith” and that the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you
believe is great work. But the only way to do great work is to love what you do. He
says that you shouldn’t settle until you find what you’re looking for. In his third
story he shared that for the past years he looked in the mirror and asked himself “If
today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?”
and if the answer was no for several days, he knew he needed a change. It was the
most important tool he used to make the big choices in his life. Steve Jobs said that
we should follow our heart and that we shouldn’t be affected by what other people
think of us. He ended his speech with a message “Stay Hungry”, “Stay Foolish”.

YouTube. Over 48 hours of videos are being uploaded every single minute and only
a tiny percent go viral. Going viral requires three things. First are tastemakers, when
influential people enjoy the video they see they share it or report it making lots of
people view the video. Second is unexpectedness, viral videos should be different
since tons of videos get uploaded every minute. Third is participation, When the
video is interesting or when it is catchy, people usually create parodies, remakes
and/or add something new.
