5. You are given fifteen (10) minutes reading time and total Four hours and thirty
minutes (3:50 hours) to accomplish the project

Project information
Given the necessary equipment, tools, materials, supplies and information, you are
expected to accomplish/perform the following project.
Assessment place: well equipped ICT laboratory
Project title: Prepare PC for end users.

Project 1: Assemble PC Components

Time Allotted: Thirty minutes (20 minutes)

The main tasks of the project are the following:

1. In this task you are expected to assemble PC components (i.e CD-ROM,Hard


Disk,RAM) to the mother board.
2. Add additional VGA and modem card properly if possible.
3. Verify and record the computer hardware components of your computer

Project 2: Prepare PC for use

Time Allotted: Two hours (2:00 hours)

The main tasks of the project are the following:


1. Create partition on the hard disk as C (60%) and D (30%).
2. Install Windows Server 2003 on C drive using NTFS file systems and Windows
XP on D drive using FAT file system to create dual boot systems.
3. Install Device driver NIC, VGA and Sound drivers
4. Install Microsoft Office 2003, and Antivirus on windows XP.
5. Upgrade Microsoft Office 2003 to Microsoft Office 2007 without uninstalling the
former versions of the application software
6. Update the Antivirus.

Project 3: Create the following document on Microsoft Word.


Time Allotted: Thirty minutes (30 minutes)
The main tasks of the project are the following:
1. You are expected to create the following document by applying necessary
formatting tool on Microsoft word 2007. (Caution: Check that bullet and
numbering is done using formatting).
