A. Initial Task

Good Morning class! “Good Morning Sir!”

Before anything else, we are going to start our lesson by asking our Almighty Classmates, Let’s stand

We are done discussing the music in Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia,


and Thailand.

As a sort of review, What is the most famous musical ensemble in Cambodia? Pinpeat sir.

How about in Indonesia? The Gamelan sir.

In Myanmar? Hsaing Waing sir.

Very good! In Malaysia? There are many of them, just name one. The Agung and

We are done discussing the music in Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia,
and Thailand.

Laos.

This country is an independent state of Southeast Asia and officially known as


Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
The classical music of and dance Laos is highly influenced by India, Cambodia
and Thailand.
Themes of their music and arts are drawn from Hindu mythology, the Buddhist
Jataka Tales and local legends.

The Lao orchestra can be divided into two categories:


The Sep Nyai and Sep Noi.

Traditional music, called Mor Lam, is largely based around khene. Please listen Students listens

C. Discovery Task
Look for some folk songs from the different country that we had discussed then
replace its lyrics by your own composition.

D. Final Task
The class will be divided by 5 groups. Each group will sing one Southeast Asian
song either learned from class or through research. Enhance your performance
with the use of improvised musical instruments as accompaniments and (Activity)
incorporate body movements. You will be judge by the following criteria:
Correct expression and style, Accurate rhythm, Appropriateness of
accompaniment and movements, correct pitch, sensitive phrasing, well-defined
dynamic level and creativity.
