There is a very famous adage, “ If you think education is expensive, then try ignorance”.

I could
not agree more. I believe research is necessary to acquire data and formulate theories, but it is just
as important to know how to apply those theories and use that data in the real world. To be
competent and competitive I will require a master’s degree. A master’s degree will give me the
up-to-date tools and knowledge that are the need of the hour.

While in my third year of undergraduate study, I learnt the concepts of meteorology incorporated
with GIS and image processing. These topics have fascinated me ever since. When I studied the
fundamentals of meteorology, GIS and Remote Sensing, I almost decided that this integration of
subjects was the career for me. What got me more enthused in this area was when I learnt about
environmental issues. I had the opportunity to study some of the weather and climatic changes
during my third and fourth (final) year. That’s when I realized how these fields could be merged
together by having dedicated processors. I am certain that my interest in this will increase by taking
Remote sensing and GIS as Research thesis in my final semester of undergraduate study.

In Final year Project and Research thesis of undergraduate, I joined hands with three other students
to undertake a project. Astore which is northern area of Pakistan is selected as our research focus.
Astore and surroundings is an active fault zone in the northern Pakistan, where active deformation
is quite significant. This zone developed due to two major plate’s collision, one is the Indian and
other is the Eurasian plate. Eurasian plate is a relatively a bigger plate comprised of hard and
dense rocks while Indian plate comparatively soft igneous and metamorphic rocks due to which
Indian plate is sub-ducted by Eurasian plate. These tectonic connections are accountable for a
composite drainage network across the region which portrays the relative relief rates, rock nature,
erosional rates and drainage density. Tectonic deformations have physically powerful effects on
stream systems and meandering and tapering of the basin of river. This research explains the
affiliation of rate of relative deformation and drainage systems by using DEM based
geomorphological modeling and result relative deformation rates. This study also provides the
drainage density which reflects the geology and topography of the region because the streams are
sketched form digital elevation model directly and automatically. The results of isobase codings,
drainage density, relative rates and topographic surface roughness are also systematic with the
regional-scale morphostructures (e.g. Base level anomalies related with local structures can be
easily identified) along published geological faults. The highest values of isobase codings,
drainage density, relative rates and topographic surface roughness in the study area exist in the
North of upper Domail, West of Manikal, North of Shaushar Lake and around Mani Glacier and
these higher values correspond to tectonics scarps along Nanga Parbat Haramosh massif (NPHM)
and steep slopes on either side of the massif.
Also I Participated in Internation Conference on space (ICS-2014) as primary autgor of research
paper which is “MAPPING VEGETATION COVER USING REMOTE SENSING AND
MOBILE GIS: A CASE STUDY OF PUNJAB UNIVERSITY”. In this paper tree count is mapped
for monitoring environment of university. The monitoring and evaluation of land cover in urban
areas is a major problem for suitable land management and conservation purposes. The
information about the location of forest cover is of utmost importance. Mobile GIS is an emerging
technology these days. Many researchers are making use of mobile based GIS functionality for
field measurements in remote areas. Data collection and analysis on a mobile platform can be very
helpful in many disciplines including disaster management, habitat mapping and forest monitoring.
This work discusses the fundamentals of GIS functioning within mobile devices, applications, and
wireless networks in the context of environmental management. Vegetative cover mapping is very
important in ecosystem management and environment protection. With the use of mobile
technology it is easy to map vegetative cover in remote locations and then analyzing the results in
GIS. Tree points were taken at different locations in the vicinity of study area and a density map
is generated from that data. The results are then compared with high resolution Google Earth
Imagery. The results show the areas of high and low density vegetation. This helps in identifying
those areas which need more attention. These results demonstrate the potential applicability and
usability of such an approach to the entire city. The study suggests that the accuracy could be
increased if D-GPS is used for surveying.

I came 4th in the merit list of M.Phil. Geomatics Program and I selected my research proposal
which was primarily based on GIS and accessibility. The topic of my research is “
GIS and Multicriteria Analysis for the Assessment and Evaluation of Potential Sites of Primary
Schools in Vehari District”. In this primary schools of female students were focused. Pakistan
owns one of the lowermost proportions in the ecosphere, of public consuming very less approach
to the education in the state. The probabilities of Pakistani kid’s specially girls arriving educational
institutes and finishing their education at key level are tremendously low. This paper proposes an
assimilated demonstrating structure that adds to the assessment of primary schools dispersion in
Vehari for spatial justness in urban environment. The system comprises of two assimilated models
which are accessibility/availability and suitability and are incorporated as a structure for measuring
the relative spatial values of urban utilities like primary schools. Accessibility and availability for
primary schools students is achieved on the basis of Network Analysis which is displayed as
geographic information system (GIS) and spatial investigation models. Whereas, suitability of
primary schools is achieved through Analytical hierarchical process (AHP) which is a multi-
criteria approach. Network Analysis assimilated with AHP produces a model which incorporates
road network behavioral capacities linked with standard walking capability of students i.e. 0.8km
and models territorial contrasts in the spatial values of urban schools using census data and Land-
use pattern. The outcomes indicate unequal local spatial advancement that influences difference
of availability and service status between primary schools of girls and boys. The aggregated travel
time costs related with road network dataset and service status of girls and boys primary schools
influence the accessibility chances of inhabitants. On the premise of this assimilated system
difference in service statuses of girls and boys primary is assessed and suitable potential sites for
girls’ primary schools are proposed. Thus, it could be a valuable reference to help urban organizers
dissect, examine, and modify the dissemination of educational amenities in a more reasonable way

I am a Young, ambitious, multi-skilled & self-managing individual, having highly developed

written & oral communication skills; committed for setting innovative standards in workplace
environment. I can handle multiple tasks competently, while working proactively. Also, I am
avery practical person and my understanding is prodded by actually seeing things work. I am a
quick thinker and learner.
I would like to pursue my research studies in a dynamic Institution, where, my knowledge in
Meteorology, Geo-informatics, Geomatics and Remote Sensing, Astronomy and Astrophysics
would lead me to a suitable position. Your university could be the nucleus to accomplish my
goals, as ample opportunities exist for students like me to initiate independent study and to
become involved in active research programs, both experimental and theoretical. I would be
more than happy to be given the opportunity to pursue my phd study in your university. I am
confident that in return for this I can make a perennial contribution to your institution.
