The document discusses various drawing tools and techniques in AutoCAD including how to draw rectangles, polygons, circles, tangents, ellipses, ellipse arcs, arcs, and how to apply gradients and hatches. It provides examples and step-by-step instructions for using each tool to create different shapes and objects. The techniques covered include how to specify points, distances, radii, and angles to construct geometric shapes and apply colors or patterns.

• SNAP- track distance for X & Y axis • OSNAP- track the edges • ORTHO – straight line • OTRACK – track changes by OSNAP Drawing Rectangle & Polygon
• Press icon rectangle
• Example – Enter start point (0,0) – Enter end point (6,6) • For polygon – Insert number of sides – “Inscribed in circle” means inside circle – “Circumscribed” means object surrounded the circle – Identify the starting point – Identify the radius Drawing circles
• Press icon circle /type circle
• Example
– Enter centre point (6,5)
– Enter radius 3
• To use diameter, use the scroll arrow
Tangent Drawing
• Drawing a tangent circle to 2 circles
• Example • Draw 2 circle anywhere • 1st circle (4,5), R=2 • 2nd circle (10,5), R=3 • For the 3rd circle, click circle then use scroll arrow find TTR (tan tan radius) and click • Select tangent marking/placing to the 1st & 2nd circle • Enter the any radius Ellipse
• Select the Ellipse icon
• Two types to choose • Draw using center point or end point • Example – 1st: Select center, specify center point, then endpoint and finally distance & rotate the ellipse to identify the shape – 2nd: Specify end point 1, then endpoint 2 and finally distance & rotate the ellipse to identify the shape Ellipse Arc
• Select the Ellipse icon
• Choose Elliptical Arc • Draw normal ellipse then identify the arc from the ellipse shape • Example – Specify end point 1, then endpoint 2, then distance & rotate the ellipse to identify the shape – Click the 1st point to break and move along for the next point break Arc • To draw free hand arc • Example – Select arc – Enter 1st point – Enter 2nd point – Rotate accordingly to get the end point shape • Example – Draw rectangle – Draw arc inside the box Exercise 1 Drawing tools to beautify the drawing
• Using Gradient & Hatch
– Select gradient/hatch, pick the object/point – Select the parts to be colored – Select internal point/object Practical 3 THANK YOU
