OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the session, learners will be able to:
1. Evaluate written review of literature of the group
2. Create outline to organize the gathered data.

CONTENT:
a. Topic: PRESENTING WRITTEN REVIEW OF LITERATURE
b. Materials: chalk board, papers, ball pen, and previous output.
c. References :PRACTICAL RESEARCH 1 BOOK page 105-109.

PROCEDURES:
A. INITIAL ACTIVITY

1. Prayers, greetings, checking of attendance

B. DEVELOPMENT ACTIVIES

ACTIVITY: ORGANIZING PIECES

Meet the group members and consolidate the related articles each member had researched
utilizing the APA standard.

ANALYSIS:

1. What was your contribution in preparing related literature of the group?


2. How did you utilize APA standard in you research?
3. How will you organize the gathered data?

ABSTRACTION:

Structure of the literature review


Critical evaluation of the literature

APPLICATION:
Meet with the group again and discuss the write up of the conducted interview and the
journal for the observation.

EVALUATION:

Each group will create outline to organize the gathered data as preparation for the
presentation of the discussion.

Continue adding more related articles and add it in your related literature.

*GUIDELINES IN WRITING A LITERATURE
*SAMPLES ON HOW TO WRITE LITERATURE
APPLICATION
A.) Decide on a topic of interest. This maybe an area of research you would like
to undertake for your research project later.
B.) Do a quick a quick evaluation of 5 or more articles you wish to use for your
literature review. Evaluate them in the following aspects:
*relevance to your topic interest
*currency of article (published 4-5 years ago preferably) or website
(is it dated? Do not cite facts or statistics that are not dated.)
*is the article peer reviewed (a scholarly paper see below “scholarly
vs. popular”)?
*Author’s authority/ credibility
*publisher (for papers and books: commercial or academic? For
websites: edu, gov, org, com or net?)
*does the article come with a bibliography? This gives you an idea
whether the author has referred to other sources and helps to
validate the content of the article.
FOR WEBSITES, there should be links or footnotes that list down
references and further resources.
*is the article biased in any way?
c.) your five articles should include 3-4 peer reviewed research papers 1-2
credible websites (excluding PDF files of papers you found on the internet)
d.) read each article and summarize what it says in your area of study.
e.) WRITE A LITERATURE REVIEW OF 500 WORDS ON YOUR TOPIC OF INTEREST.
