IEEE Distribution Subcommittee/PQ Subcommittee Meetings, Orlando, FL
January 21 23, 2004
The meeting was called to order by Randy Collins, Chairman.
Attendees were asked to introduce themselves and sign the attendance list indicating their status as member or guest. One list was circulated for Members, and a separate list for Interested Parties. Participants were reminded that all correspondence is via email, so it is important that the lists reflect an up to date email address. The minutes of the fall 2003 meeting in Dallas were distributed and approved as presented. Status report from Task Forces · 1159.1 Charles Perry wordsmithing remains to complete the final draft. Since the PAR expires at the end of 2004, the draft will be submitted to the editorial board for review after this meeting. · 1159.3 Erich Gunther reported that 1159.3 is available for purchase. Two new PARs will be submitted, one for a users guide for 1159.3 and one for XML mapping to PQDIF. Old Business: a. A draft containing the latest version of 1159 was distributed prior to the meeting. A PAR for this work will be submitted shortly. b. Each of the Chapter Chairs was asked to give a brief update on the progress to date. Chapter 3 Definitions: Scott Peel reported on the lengthy email discussion regarding the definition of Power Quality. Chapter 4 Phenomena: This chapter is in its final draft form. Chapter 5 Tom Gentile: No report Chapter 6 Rich Bingham: This chapter is in its final draft form. Chapter 7 Tim Unruh: This chapter is in its final draft form. Chapter 8 Russ Ehrlich: Updates will be submitted by the end of next week. c. Following the breakout sessions each chapter convener was asked to report back to the committee. Chapter 3 Scott Peele: After discussion it was recommended that the existing definition for Power Quality remain unchanged, with a note indicating that as used in the document it refers to a wide variety of conditions. New definitions in Chapter 7 and from 1159.1 to be incorporated. Chapter 4 Erich Gunther: Chapter to be updated with 1159.1 information. Chapter 5 Tom Gentile: There is a significant amount of information that needs to be added. The Chapter will be cut down to a manageable size so as to reach final draft status with on more iteration.

Chapter 8 Russ Ehrlich: Removing out of date material. Updated draft to be submitted by the end of next week. Action Items: · Respond to Randy Collins with comments and updates by the end of next week.
Next Meeting: Denver June 7, 2004 - Critical meeting to stay on track with 1159 update cycle.
