Introduction Eligibility Selection Process Exam Pattern
The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) is an independent recruitment agency. ASRB’s
mandate includes executing recruitment processes for various posts and services of the Indian Council
of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and providing assistance, assessment and advice in personnel matters
to ICAR.
National Eligibility Test NET is conducted by the ASRB.
NET is a qualifying examination for determining eligibility for the position of Lecturer or Assistant
Professor in the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and other Agricultural Universities (AUs).
NET certificates will be issued by the ASRB to the qualified candidates to enable them to apply against
vacancies to be notified or advertised by the State Agricultural Universities/Agricultural Universities.
SAUs/AUs will satisfy themselves with regard to fulfillment of prescribed eligibility condition/criterion
for requisite posts of Lecturers/Assistant Professors.
Age
A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years. There is no upper age limit for the National Eligibility
Test.
Educational qualification
A candidate must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in the concerned Discipline and specialization
from any Indian University or he/she must have qualification from a foreign University recognized as
equivalent by the Government of India.
Candidates are required to apply online using the application form link available on the ASRB website.
The online Application process for ICAR NET (II) 2018 started on 09 Nov 2018 and ended on 29 Nov 2018.

The ICAR NET (II) 2018 examination fee was as follows:
Admit card
The Admission Certificates can be downloaded from the ASRB website.
The ICAR NET (II) 2018 Examination was conducted in Dec 2018. The result was declared on
12 Mar 2019.
The ICAR NET (I) 2018 was conducted in Apr 2018. The result was declared in May 2018 and 7771
candidates qualified in NET (I) 2018 Examination.
There is no restriction on number of attempts for appearing in the National Eligibility Test.
Exam Schedule
The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) conducted ICAR NET (II) 2018 Examination during
27 Dec 2018 to 29 Dec 2018 at 34 centres across India.
Pattern
The Examination is conducted in online Computer Based Test (CBT) mode at the designated Centres only.
There will be a single paper of 150 marks consisting of 150 objective type multiple choice questions to be
solved in 2 (Two) hours. Each question carries one mark and 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong
answer.
The questions are available in bilingual form, i.e., Hindi and English medium on the computer. In case of any
discrepancy between English and Hindi version of any question, the English version shall prevail and will be
treated as final. The answers are to be marked on the computer itself during the Examination.
The questions are derived from the respective discipline in which the candidate has opted to appear. The
standard of paper will be that of a Master’s degree issued by an Indian University in the relevant Discipline.
