CHAPTER III

METHODOLOGY

Research Design

Descriptive research was employed in the study. Descriptive


correlation was used to determine the difference that is manifested
between the variables particularly with the characteristics of the
experimental yema and of the commercial yema.

Research Environment

The plants is used in the study were obtained from the research’s
residence. The other materials were available in the school’s science
laboratory. The gathered materials were brought to the science
laboratory for the measurement and preparation of each, and for the
conduct of the experiment.
CHAPTER I

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Many children, including teenagers do not eat


nutritious food which resulting to malnutrition in our
country. Most of the children now eat more junk food
than fruits and vegetables not knowing that it has bad
effect on their health, especially if they to much
sweet that it can cause tooth decay, tonsillitis and
may turn out to diabetis, if too much sour it can also
cause U.T.I and kidney failure. Eating to much junk
food is not advisable and it is bad for our health.

Ampalaya which usually is a problem for the


children to eat because of its bitter taste, Ampalaya
(Momordica Charantia L. Amorgoso) has a great
nutritional value is effective for curing many
illnesses. Yema, known to be a dessert in every meal is
a really delicious food. Many children likes to eat
yema, so that I decided to make yema that it would be
attracted among the children and they may love if they
taste it. Ampalaya will help the relieve liver
problems, to control blood sugar, HIV, skin disease,
sterility in women, to kill parasites, to reduce fever
and purge illness from the body through defecation.
Both the Ampalaya leaves and fruits contain vitamin B,
iron, calcium, beta carotene and phosphorus. Some of
its benefits are, it disinfects, relieve cold symptom,
boosts immunity, regulates blood sugar levels, lowers
blood pressure, relieves headaches and protects spleen
and liver.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

In our modern day, health condition of the country


is slowly deteriorating because of the widespread of
non nutritious foods consumed by people.

This investigatory project aims to determine and to


find out how the bitterness of Ampalaya will work out
on the products desire flavor and also on the benefits
that can make for our country.
Specifically, this project will seek to answer the
following questions:

1. Does yema made out of ampalaya taste is better


than the other kind of yema?

2. Will it be more affordable than other kind of


yema?

3. Is it healthier than the other kind of yema?

STATEMENT OF HYPOTHESIS

1. The yema made out of ampalaya tastes better than


the other kind of yema?

2. The yema made out of ampalaya is more affortable


than the other kind of yema?

3. The yema made out of ampalaya is healthier than


the other kind of yema.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This product will be beneficial to those following


individuals:

Parents, for their children today are hate the


bitter taste of ampalaya. And by this product, children
will eat yema while taking the nutrients from ampalaya.

The expenses of the community will be lesser when


it comes to buying yema’s and it is affordable because
it is cheaper than the other products.
People, the budget will not problem because it is
tastier and healthy products that improving the
condition of our country as well as the children.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

This study will be conducted at Centro 2, Luna


Isabela on August 15. This study focuses on the taste
result of ampalaya yema and its limitation to form new
kinds of food.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

In this chapter, the data are presented in the form


of the tables. The answers to the specific questions
were based on the computed descriptive and inferential
statistics. Below each table are the analysis and
interpretation of the data.
