A. CONTENT STANDARD
The learner demonstrates understanding of: pre – colonial Philippine Literature as a means of
connecting to the past; various reading styles; ways of determining word meaning; the sounds of
English and the prosodic features of speech; and correct subject verb agreement.
B. PERFORMANCE STANDARD
The learner transfers learning by: showing appreciation for the literature of the past;
comprehending texts using appropriate reading styles; participating in conversations using appropriate
context-dependent expressions; producing English sounds correctly and using the prosodic features of
speech effectively in various situations; and observing correct subject – verb agreement.
C. LEARNING COMPETENCIES
At the end of the class discussion, students are expected to:

a. Give clear, precise and concise information.


b. Formulate meaningful expressions.
c. Compose a simple informative text

1.Describe the pictures on the first column. How do they differ from the pictures
on the second column?
2. How do you feel when there are changes and innovations?
3. What do the pictures suggest?
c. Watch and analyze the video presentation.

1. The students will answer the following questions based on the video they have watched
a. Being a 21st century learner, what can you say about the ideas presented in the
video?
b. Are the ideas presented based on reality?
c. What are the differences of the things that were happening then and the events that
are occurring now?
d. How is the past related to our present life?
e. How do the things we do affect our future?

V. Generalization

1. Letting the students give their insights about the lesson.

VI. Evaluation

1. With the use of computer, the students will choose two – three (2-3) pictures given by
the teacher and they will classify whether it belongs to the past and present. Then, they
will going to type their explanation and present it to the class.
