AMENDED BY-LAWS OF THE ASSOCIATION OF RETIRED TEACHERS

ARTICLE I – NAME
The name of the organization shall be the, Association of Retired Teachers.
(ART)
ARTICLE II – OBJECTIVES
The objectives of this association shall be to secure and promote the interest
and welfare of its members specifically shall seek:
a. To implement and enhance the welfare, social, cultural and spiritual
growth and to boost the morale of its members.
b. To implement and support principles, policies of association
c. To undertake programs that will promote the interest of its members
d. To keep its members in close touch with one another

ARTICLE III - MEMBERSHIP


Section 1. Membership in this association is the following:
a. All retired teachers of Tumauini who desire join to this association.
b. The association is composed of retired teachers from public and private
institution and retired teachers in other municipalities but residing in
Tumauini

ARTICLE IV - DUES AND FEES


Section 1. Each member shall pay a yearly P 50.00 as membership fee to the
treasurer for miscellaneous and other official expenses and this will not be
deposited in the bank.
Section 2. Each member shall/pay P 300.00 as payment of dues to the treasurer to
be used for future benefit who had passed away and the said dues shall be
deposited at the nearest bank.

Section 3. In case the funds were already consumed to the recipient members, the
recipient members, the treasurer will collect again P 300.00 for another future use.

Section 4. All said dues and fees collection shall properly be controlled by the
treasurer, auditor and the president.
ARTICLE V – ORGANIZATION

Section 1. The association shall take effect after the official oath taking by the
authority or public official

Section 2. The affairs of the association shall be managed by the officer

Section 3. There will be elections of officers every two (2) years during the 3rd
week of December.

Section 4. The officer can serve for two (2) terms if he/she wishes to run for
the same position. They shall be eligible for election of not more not than two
(2) consecutive terms.

Section 5. The former president of the association shall act as the adviser or
consultant. They shall be ex-officio members of the association.

Section 6. The officers shall meet as often, when necessity demands.

Section 7. No action of any officer can be valid, unless it is the decision of the
majority.

Section 8. Minutes of all meetings shall be recorded. Copies of the minutes


shall be furnished to each officer upon approval.

ARTICLE VI – DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Section 1. The powers of the President shall be exercised in all business. Shall
cast his/her votes in all questions resulting to tie. He/she shall preserve orders
and defend the Constitution and By-laws.

Section 2. The Vice President shall act as the president in the absence of the
latter due to illness and incapacity to discharge the duties.

Section 3. In case of removal of the president from the office or resignation


the same position shall be relinquished to the Vice President.

Section 4. The Secretary shall have the following duties and responsibilities.
a. To act as secretary of all meetings of the said body.
b. To see to it that all agenda for regular and special meeting are recorded
c. To perform other duties as maybe assigned by the president

Section 5. The Treasurer shall have the following duties and responsibilities.
a. To keep and safeguard all funds of the association and all official of
accounts necessary for any purpose.
b. To collect all necessary dues and fees authorize by the constitution as
approved by the officers.
c. To keep registry book showing the names of all members of the
association with their respective payments of dues and fees.
d. To keep the book of records, open for examination at any reasonable
time by the members of the association or any authorized person. And
prepare Financial Statements to be presented every meeting

Section 6. The Auditor shall have the following duties and responsibilities.

a. To examine and audit the book of records and shall certify to the
correctness of the records of the treasurer.
b. To examine the book of records and to submit to the President any
irregularities made by the treasurer.
ARTICLE VII – MEETINGS

Section 1. All meetings of the officers shall be held in the residence in any available
venue.

Section 2. There will be monthly meetings of officers and quarterly meetings to all
members of the association.

Section 3. Special meetings of the association shall be called by the President upon
written request or text messages.

ARTICLE VIII – FUNDS OF THE ASSOCIATION

Section 1. The association shall have funds from the following sources.
a. Membership fee -- ₱50.00 yearly to be used as Operational expenses

b. Death Aids Dues – ₱ 300.00 yearly

Section 2. Disbursement funds shall be in accordance to the existing rules and


regulations and shall be approved by the President.

ARTICLE IX- BENEFITS

Section 1. Any member of the association who had passed away shall receive cash
and neurological service in accordance with the following category.

a. ₱ 3,000.00 --- One-year payment of dues and membership.


b. ₱ 5,000.00 --- Two-year payment of dues and membership.
c. ₱ 10,000.00 --- Three-year payment of dues and membership.
d. ₱ 15,000.00 --- After Fifteen-year of membership and members will also
receive ₱ 15,000.00
e. Payments of dues shall start every month of January and failure to pay
shall be given a grace period of six (6) months (June).
f. Failure to pay within the grace period months from January to June shall
not avail the benefit.
g. For non-member of the association in case of death, will receive
voluntary contribution only coming from the members.
