FIRST PART

I. Orienting the guests for the Grand Entrance

M: Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen. May I have your attention please. We are about to
begin the Wedding Reception of our beloved newlyweds Leiss and Genesis. So please, find a seat
and make yourself comfortable.

II. Welcome Address

J: Saint Paul is definitely right to say that love is indeed a symbol of eternity. It wipes out all sense
of time, destroying all memory of a beginning and all fear of an end. Love is timeless as arts are.
For love does not grow old.

M: William Shakespeare put it into words:

Love is an ever-fixed mark, that looks on tempest and is never shaken. Love is the star to every
wondering bark, whose worth’s unknown although his height be taken.

J: Good Afternoon everyone and welcome to Leiss and Genesis’ Wedding Reception. We are done
with the solemn part of the celebration and we thank those people who were with us earlier at
the Diocesan Shrine of Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno St. Rock the Healer Mission Center, Brgy.
Cawayan, Catarman, Northern Samar for the wedding ceremony; and for those who have just
joined in. Welcome!

III. Grand Entrance

J: A wedding is a celebration of love, celebrated not just by the newlyweds but with the people,
who have been part and parcel and primo witnesses of the couple’s seasoned love story.

M: A ___ year old relationship is no big joke. Aside from the boundless rainbow, the newlyweds
have also been through a multitude of thunders, quake of difficulties, and gigantic waves of
misunderstandings, but they have strongly and boldly made it this far and will make it even
further than the horizon until eternity. Thus, it is my pleasure to introduce you to the newlyweds
along with their family and friends who served as pillars and stewards of their relationship.

bridesmaid, and sponsors. Let us give them a round of applause.

IV. Introduction of the Bride and the Groom

M: They say, forever is nowhere. But today reminds us that forever is now here. Forever is indeed
real. __ years of being together, ___ years of staying together, and forever, they will be together.
It’s going to be their solemn creed until the end.

We have the greatest pre-nuptial agreement in the world. It’s called love, and it is because of
that love that this day calls for a grand celebration.

J: Love is in the air, and at this point, it is my distinct pleasure to introduce to you for the first
time, Leiss and Genesis, as husband and wife. So, without further ado, let us all rise and give our
warmest welcome to Mr. and Mrs. Desucatan.

J: Congratulations Leiss and Genesis and best wishes to the both of you. We wish you to be
blessed with a long and happy life together with your future children. So, there you have it our
lovely new couple. Let us again give them a big round of applause.

V. Program Proper

M: Before anything else, may I request everyone to rise for an opening prayer. I’d like to call on
to the stage Mr. Jhon Allen Berbon to lead us to the word of God.

(Prayer commences)

J: For the knowledge of everyone, the theme of this wedding is somewhat cinematic. Hence,
through the course of this wedding reception we will be presenting a bunch of video
presentations and a short film that will portray and show, the affectionate and passionate
character of the couple’s relationship through the years.

M: Yes, indeed. Hence, at this juncture, we would like to show you the first video presentation.
Sit back relax and enjoy the video.

(Video Presentation plays)

J: (Comment something about the video)

M: (Agrees and corroborates the comment)

VI. Slicing of the Cake

J: We have here a beautiful wedding cake so may I now request the couple to do the honor of
slicing the wedding cake.

(Cake is sliced by the couple)

M: The cake is a metaphorical symbolism of the sweetness of the couple and that amidst the
challenges that they’ve been through, the sweetness of their love will conquer the bitterness of
life.
VII. Wine Toast

J: A celebration is never complete without a toast and a bottle of good wine. Let us now bring
out the good wine and pour it to our glasses. Ladies and gentlemen, it takes a strong and
intelligent man to realize his dreams and achieve his goals in life and love.

M: A man that is not afraid to live life to its fullest and embrace what is truly important. I’m here
to talk about Leiss and Genesis; two people who have come together today to form a union that
will surely last for a lifetime.

To do the honors of giving a toast to the newlyweds, let’s call, the Best man ______________.

(Best Man offers a toast)

BM: Everyone let us all stand and raise our glasses and join me as we wish Leiss and Genesis a
happy life together. Here’s to good health, happiness, good luck and prosperity, to Leiss and
Geneis. Cheers!
J: Thank you Ladies and Gentlemen, you may now be seated.
VIII. First Dance vis-à-vis Prosperity Dance

M: Today is indeed a special day which will forever be etched in the memory of our beloved
couple. For today marks the beginning of their new life together. From this day forward they shall
be one, and on this joyful beginning what could be more fitting than to celebrate it with their first
dance.

J: The First Dance is symbolic of the consummation of their wedding vows. This dance is the
wedding couples’ first cooperative engagement and joint endeavor. At this point, beautiful laides
and gentlemen, let our eyes be wowed as we all witness the couples’ first and legendary wedding
dance.

(Music plays, the dance commences)

(Music plays spontaneously while transitioning to the prosperity dance)

M: There you have it. The newlyweds Leiss and Genesis on their first dance as Mr. and Mrs.
Desucatan. Guys, continue dancing. We will now proceed to the prosperity dance. I am inviting
everyone shower some prosperity to the couple. You know what I mean. Come on now. Don’t be
shy.

IX. Message by the Maid of Honor

M: May I call the attention of everyone, for at this juncture I would like to introduce the sister of
the bride; Ms. Sheena Angela Gelera. She is the maid of honor and she will give a heartfelt
message for the bride and groom. Let us give her a warm welcome.

J: Thank you Sheena for that inspiring message.

X. Bouquet and Garter Thingy

J: Today is a day of excitement and surprises. Primarily, it is because we are celebrating the union
of Leiss and Genesis. To break the monotony of today’s wedding reception, we will offer you lots
of fun and laughter as this time, we will be enjoying a couple of games, conceived by the
newlyweds.

MECHANICS OF THE GAME

Bouquet Tossing – This game is somewhat the same with the classic ‘stop and dance’. Ladies will
initially form a circular pattern. The moment the music rolls, all ladies must show their best moves
and pass around the bouquet. When the music stops, the one holding the bouquet can take her
seat. The lady who never had the chance to hold the bouquet for the entire round will be the
lucky one.

Garter Toss – All they have to do is to drink a glass of wine (bottoms up). The last one to drink
the last shot on the bottle will be the lucky one.

RETRIEVAL OF THE GARTER

M: Before we proceed, the groom is to retrieve the garter from his bride. So, I would like to
request Leiss and Genesis to please come at the center and to the garter retrieval ritual.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the groom will now retrieve the garter from the bride.

J: There you have it ladies and gentlemen; the groom was able to retrieve the garter. Let us give
him a big hand.

XI. Short Film

M: We have told you earlier that the theme of this wedding is somewhat inclined to the cinemas.
Hence, we will now witness another video presentation. This time, we will play a short film about
the newlyweds. Sit back, relax and enjoy the flick everyone.
XII. Message from the Bride & Groom

J: (Comment about the short film) Now, it is time for the bride and the groom to address everyone
who happily joined the celebration of this wedding. Everyone, let us again welcome, Mr. and Mrs.
Desucatan as they give us a message. Let’s give them a round of applause.

Shortly, after the message another video presentation will be played. So, just sit tight. Thank you.

(message and video presentation ends)

M: That concludes the first part of our program ladies and gentleman. But we are not yet done.
Part two of the program is much more entertaining.

PART TWO

I. Surprise Number by the Groom

M: To heat things up, the groom prepared a special surprise dance number for everyone and for
his bride. Let us welcome Genesis as he breaks the dance floor. A round of applause everyone!

II. Kuratsa

J: (comment about the groom’s dance number) We are not yet finished with the dance floor that
was just an appetizer. Now, we will do the traditional kuratsa dance. I will call the pairs and as
you are called please proceed to the dance floor and show us your swaggy kuratsa moves.

(refer to the program for the list of the pairs)

III. Intermission Numbers

(Just call whoever is to perform and do some commentaries after the performance;
refer to the program)

IV. Bride’s Surprise Number

J: The bride, Leiss, is a natural born dancer. A very talented dancer and she won’t let the groom
take the spotlight. So, let us welcome her as she showcases her moves on the dance floor with
her surprise dance number along with her dance crew A- Mars. Let’s give them a round of
applause.

M: (Comment about the dance number)

V. Message for the Newlyweds by Jobi

M: Now, one of the closest friends of the bride will give a message. Here to inspire the bride and
the groom is the bride’s soul sister, Silver Jobi Ambos. Let us give her a warm welcome everyone.

(Comment on the message)

Well, there you have it ladies and gentlemen, that concludes the second part of our program.
Now is my favorite part of the wedding reception. Its party time, let us all enjoy each other’s
company, eat some food and have some drinks, dance if you want to. Just enjoy yourselves. Good
Evening Everyone! Chao!
