1 Zaragoza Sample Lectrical Computation (SAMPLE)

This document provides an analysis of the proposed electrical design for a two-storey residence located in Bulacan, Philippines. It includes calculations of short circuit current, voltage drop, and load for the system. Short circuit current calculations are provided for the main feeder and branch circuits. Load calculation determines the full load current to be 120.7 amps. Voltage drop and short circuit current are within acceptable limits by code standards.

2# 150mm. sq. THW, 22mm. sq. THW grounding

Philippine Electrical Code:

Voltage Drop = (2 x L x R x I)/1000
L=25 feet
R=0.45 ohms/1000 ft in steel conduit
I=23 amperes
Voltage Drop= 2 x 25 x .45 x 23 / 1000 = 0.518 volts

% Voltage Drop= (0.518/240) 100%=0.22%

BASED ON on IEEE Std 241-1990

Voltage Drop = (((L x Ix volt loss x (1/#/phase)/1,000,000) x 1/240 volts) 100%

L x I x Volt loss=25 x 23 x 860 = 494,500
1/#/phase=1/1
=(((494,500 a 1/1)/1,000,000) x 240) x 100%

% Voltage Drop= 0.21% based on IEEE Std.

Load Calculation

General and small appliances

General Lightings & Small Appliances Load:
Lighting Load for 130 sq.m @ 24w/sq m = 3,120 W
Small appliance load 3ckt @ 1,500W/ckt = 4,500 W

Next 4,620 W @ 35 % D.F = 1,617 W
1-.75H ACU @ 125% D.F. (8.00 ×1.25) x 230V = 2,300 W
4-1H ACU @ 100% D.F. (8.00 × 4.00) x 230V = 9,200 W
1-800 W Ref = 800 W
