I QUICKSTART

I.A. INFO
Quick document to explain how the arena system works.

II SETUP YOUR FIRST ARENA

II.A. MAP EDITOR

You need to create an arena map. No size limit but you need to place all levels on the same
bounding box. You cannot use 2 map areas to generate 1 arena map.

Figure 1 Map editor sample

1: You need to put in server block mode, the maps with ARENA GAME Block (orange)
2: You need to specify BLUE team ZONE and RED team ZONE with server block.
3: You can specify 2 NO PVP zone or not. If you want a safe recall zone or not.
II.B. SERVER PANEL
You need to setup your arena here… You can build 2 kinds of games. The game type 1 is a ONE
flag game, the team need to get the flag and bring it back to their team zone. The game type 2 is
a TWO flag game, both teams have a flag of their own and you need to get the other team’s flag
and bring it back to your own team zone. You need to create a communication canal named
‘PVP’. The arena feature will communicate on this CC.

II.B.1. General settings
Set the name of your arena, the ID (base 0 counter of arena) and description language file ID.
Specify the arena bounding box (top left, bottom right, and the world). You need to specify the start
position of both teams (Start blue recall, Start red recall). You need to specify the death position of
both teams (Dead blue recall, Dead red recall.)

Associated Item will differ from type 1 to 2.

Type 1: You need to set the Item1 ID with the WDA flag item ID and set to -1 the Item 2 ID.
This game only requests 1 flag item. Specify 5 positions to respawn this flag. Try to
put this position in the center of the map to try and keep good gameplay.
Type 2: You need to set the Item 1 ID to the WDA Blue team flag item ID and set the item 2
ID to the red team flag ID. Set Item respawn pos 1 to the BLUE team flag position
and set Item respawn pos 2 to the RED team flag position. Set the 3 last positions
to -1

Settings: Minimum number of players: Set the minimum number of players (2 or more).
Maximum number of players: Set the maximum number of players.
Number of points to win: Number of points to win and stop the game.
Maximum number of minutes: Maximum duration for this game, in minutes.
Number of seconds before start: The number of seconds after a game is created to
wait for other players.
Number of seconds after death: Player waiting time after death to come back in
game.
Number of seconds to take item: The take item countdown time. When you
get an item you will see a progress bar before you
actually get it.

II.C. IN GAME MANAGEMENT

In the GUI Character page, the user will see a button entitled “PVP interaction”. Hit this button to
see the arena list. Choose arena and hit join button if you want to start or join this arena. You will
see the arena player waiting list and time before the arena starts. When playing a game you
always see the arena bar to see the real-time arena score and time remaining. On your chat bar,
you will see a new ICON (flag). Hit this to see the arena stats. After a game is completed you will
be teleported back to your old position and see this statistic page. You will receive a global
message from the arena system in yellow and a lot of information on the PVP canal.

II.D. INFORMATION
Don’t forget to create a PVP canal to make sure the system can communicate on a CC.
If a player manually leaves the game to make sure he will not lose or make sure his team lose…
he will receive a penalty (server flag 20189 adds 1 to its value) If this flag comes to 3, the player
will have the arena system blocked. He will lose 1 penalty point every week.
This arena gives RP/PVP points. Those points are stored in flag 20192 and 20193. You can use
those points with an NPC to exchange them for items / gold / XP. 20192 is the currently available
point flag to make an exchange. 20193 is the total of points a player gains (normally this value is
not to be modified, ever). A GM can do what he wants with those points. Note: RP interactions
give the same points.
II.E. ITEM CREATION
You need to create 3 different item 1 for arena type 1 and 2 for arena type 2.
