Time Motivation and Introduction:
11:55-
1. Students will begin the lesson sat at the front of the class

facing the teacher. The Teacher will begin by asking the students
about what are some of the questions that are asked during
morning work. The teacher will identify Partitioning as the topic of
discussion.
2. The teacher will then begin discussing the different ways you
could use partitioning to separate a number. .
3. The teacher will then discuss the activity with the class. The

students will be required to find a series of numbers that have
12:20 multiple factors. Students will then use multiplication strategies to
create the sums. Students will take photos of the strategy and
upload the image to their book creator. The students will be
asked to find a minimum of 3 multiplication sums for each
number.

how the students can use the materials as well as the app.
Lesson Steps (Lesson content, structure, strategies & Key Questions):
12:35- 1. Students will work through activity to create the books.

2. Students that require one-on-one teaching will be instructed to
use a multiplication chart to help them find numbers that have
multiple factors.
3. Once students have completed a minimum of 4 numbers and

12:45- the factors the students will be instructed to find a partner. In the
12:55 their partners the students will play the array capture game.

Lesson Closure:(Review lesson objectives with students)
12:55- 1. Students will then be instructed to save and upload their

books to Seesaw for the teachers approval.

2. To help review the lesson with the students the class will be
sat at the front of the room. Students that have finished the task
will be asked to show their finished factor books with the rest of
the class. Students will identify the different numbers they chose
and the different ways the found the factors.
Assessment: (Were the lesson objectives met? How will these be judged?)
1. The students will be assessed on the level of which they

create their final books. Students will be expected to have had at
least fully explored the factors of at least 1 number. Students will
be need to display their understanding of either groups of or
arrays. Students will also be asked to include a tittle and their
names. For students to achieve excellence in the activity they
need to attempt exploring the factors of a number not modelled
in the teachers’ example.
