Coordinate Plane Project - Packet PDF

(1) Create a coordinate plane picture using at least 60 ordered pairs (some repeated) to form at least 5 shapes, with points in all four quadrants connected by straight lines. (2) Provide directions identifying each ordered pair and its quadrant. (3) The directions will be graded on accuracy, complexity of the picture, neatness, and following the directions.

Math 6 - Coordinate Plane Project

(Due Date: _______________________________)

We have just finished learning about plotting ordered pairs in the coordinate plane and
identifying which quadrant a point is located in. In this project, you will produce a coordinate
plane picture with a set of directions to recreate that picture.
Step 1: Create a coordinate plane picture using only straight lines between points, at least
60 ordered pairs (some may be repeated), and at least 5 shapes. You must use
points in all four quadrants.

Step 2: Create directions for another person to recreate your picture. You need to identify
each ordered pair that you plotted, as well as the quadrant each point is located in.
See template in this packet and example below for clarification.
Example

SHAPE 1 SHAPE 2
Ordered Pair Quadrant Ordered Pair Quadrant
1 (1, 14) I 15 (-8, 8) II
2 (6, 12) I 16 (-7, 9) II
3 (10, 8) I 17 (-3, 8) II
4 (11, 3) I 18 (-3, 7) II

22 (4, 10) I
12 (-11, 8) II
13 (-7, 12) II

AND SO ON..
How your project will be graded
This project is worth 100 points. Your project will be graded based on the following criteria.
