PUMDET-2018 Counselling & Admission Guidelines in Non-PU quota

Dates 25th to 28th July 2018

Candidates called The subject wise list of candidates called for counselling is given in
for counselling a table below.
Schedule Subject wise Reporting time and dates are given in a table below.
Candidates not reporting within the stipulated time will not be
considered for counselling under any circumstances.
Registration Registration is mandatory for counselling.
Candidates will have to print a copy of the registration form given
below and fill in the personal data and paste a recent passport size
colour photograph in the space provided. He/she has to submit the
filled in form at the counselling venue and pay the counselling fee
of Rs. 500/- by a bank draft in the name of “West Bengal Joint
Entrance Examinations Board” payable in Kolkata. Candidates
must write name, Roll number and subject on the back of the
draft.
The registration fee is not refundable under any circumstances.
Candidates have to complete this formality within the
stipulated reporting time for the respective subject.

Rules • Counselling and admission will follow the rules enumerated in
the Information Bulletin of PUMDET-2018 and the rules of
admission of the Presidency University.
• Seats will be allotted in order of the candidates’ Sequence No.
and GMR.
• Once the seats are filled, the remaining candidates will be listed
in ‘Waiting List’ and will be called for subsequent rounds of
counselling, if any.
• Absent candidates will not be called in any subsequent round, if
any in future.
• The candidate himself/herself has to appear for counselling. No
other person is allowed to appear on behalf of the candidate.
• Those students of the Presidency University, who have already
taken admission in home quota, are not allowed in counselling in
Non-PU quota.

Documents: Candidates must carry the following original documents along with one each
self attested copy.
1. One copy of passport size colour photograph for pasting on the provisional
admission letter.
2. Any recognized photo identity card e.g. Aadhar card/ PAN card / passport/
driving license/ voter ID card/college – ID card.
3. Rank card of PUMDET-2018.
4. Any official document as a proof of the date of birth given in the rank card.
5. B.A/B.Sc. registration certificate.
6. All original mark sheets/grade cards of all semester/annual examinations,
passed at the Bachelor’s level with one each self attested copy.

Steps: Counselling and admission is not complete unless following six steps are
completed by the candidate. In case any candidate does not complete the steps, his
admission is not complete. The seat eventually falling vacant will be
immediately offered to the next candidate.
1. Reporting (submitting the registration form and the demand draft).
2. Verification of category (SC/ST/OBC/PwD) certificates, if applicable.
3. Verification of domicile certificate (for reserved category candidates only)
4. Verification of academic credentials
5. Payment of admission fee.
6. Collection of ‘Provisional Admission Letter”

Important criteria of admission to the Presidency University

A. On receiving the provisional admission letter, the candidate must report to the
respective HOD in the Presidency University by 31st July 2018.
B. Following five affidavits on Non-judicial Stamp paper of Rs. 10 or above, duly signed
by the candidate and his/her guardians will have to be submitted to the
University by 31th August 2018. Texts of these affidavits are provided in the
admissions page of the university website.
a. DECLARATION BY THE STUDENT AGAINST RACISM
b. DECLARATION BY THE STUDENT ON SEXUAL HARASSMENT
c. DECLARATION BY PARENT/GUARDIAN AGAINST SEXUAL HARASSMENT
d. AFFIDAVIT BY THE STUDENT ON ANTI-RAGGING
e. AFFIDAVIT BY PARENT/GUARDIAN ON ANTI-RAGGING

C. (a) Admission of students already admitted to other institutions/ universities shall

be treated as provisional. Such students will have to submit the admission
cancellation certificate/ transfer certificate from the respective college/university
latest by 31stAugust 2018.
(b) Those candidates who are unable to submit formal results (final mark sheet) at
the time of counselling will have to submit an undertaking in the format given in
annexure-2.

 D. The admission of the candidates will stand cancelled for
a. Those who will not be regularly attending classes and not have an attendance
record of 75% in first two (2) weeks from the commencement of classes;
b. Found guilty of any breach of Discipline during the above mentioned period & /
or having cases / enquiries under any point of Law pending either from the
Institution last attended or elsewhere.
c. Non-submission of the statutory documents (declarations/affidavit) within the
stipulated time.

Admission Fees: If selected for admission, the candidate will have to deposit the following
amount in cash as provisional admission fee.
