I. Introduction Back view

Thanks for purchasing the Nexxt Solutions standalone video surveillance system.
This multi-channel security NVR is an easy to install, easy to setup and easy to use 2 4 6 7
monitoring kit. Upon opening the box, make sure all the items listed below are included
in the package:

8. Finally, plug the AC adaptor to any standard wall outlet to power on the NVR. With this the initial

4. Once you have correctly positioned the cameras in the preferred monitoring location, firmly attach
one end of each individual ethernet cable to the PoE connector of each camera. NVR

on the rear panel of the unit. Please note that the NVR identifies each video channel based on

2. The system will prompt you to change your password. The new sequence must be at least six

5. Advanced operation
Initial configuration
When switching on the NVR for the first time, the system will boot up. When the system has
successfully loaded, the power, HDD and LAN LED indicators will glow green.

IMPORTANT! If you are logging into the NVR for the first time, it is essential that you set the
device to the correct time and date at this point, to facilitate the search for events based on when
they occurred, as well as avoiding confusion by having several recorded files bearing the same date.

5.1 Local access


During this initial process, you will be prompted to enter some basic parameters and network settings.
You can either use default values or apply your own settings, based on your system requirements
or special needs.

1. Login window: When using the device for the first time, you must click on the Login button.
The default username is admin with no password.

3. Language selection is also allowed in this window. From the drop down menu, choose the
language of your choice and click Ok to continue.

5.3 Menu interface


1. To access the menu interface, right-click the mouse to bring up the shortcut settings list from
the Live View screen. This list contains a number of parameters, but for the purposes of this
manual, we are going to focus on key configuration features accessible through the NVR’s
main menu.

5.6 Motion detection

This feature defines the parameters and enables the recording when motion is detected in any
of the selected channels.
1. From the Menu interface, go to Settings, click on Alarm followed by Motion Detection. The user
can also access this feature by right-clicking the mouse directly from the live view screen.
2. When the following window opens, select the Channel from the drop-down box, and click on
Enable to turn on the function detection function.
4. Our Xpy 1200 series of wireless cameras is fully compatible with this system. When adding
wireless cameras, the NVR will detect them automatically if they are already integrated into
your network. Remember that such cameras do not support a PoE connection and therefore,
must never be hardwired to the NVR unit.

5.5 Playback
1. Click the Playback icon to enter the interface for viewing video recorded in the memory.
This setting can also be accessed through the pop-up list enabled by right-clicking the mouse
directly from the live view screen.

6. Configuring the XpyGuardian app


1. Start by searching and installing the XpyGuardian app from the Apple or Google app store. 4. There are three options to setup the NVR. For the purposes of this guide, the QR code scan
setup will be used. Tap on Scan QR Code to continue.

5. Scan the QR code label located on the bottom of the NVR.


7. Enter the user name and password of the NVR. Tap on Connect when done.
Note: The password must be changed during the initial setup from the local NVR or web user
interface prior to registering the unit through the app.

6. The UID of the NVR will automatically populate in the P2P UID field.

8. If the NVR has been correctly integrated, the pop-up message Succeeded in adding devices

9. Now, the app will redirect you to the application’s main menu.

• Change the channel quantity between 1, 4 and 9 screen view

Local tab from the main menu, followed by the Help option.

7. Web user interface


The NVR can also be accessed using a web browser in the LAN. To do so, follow the steps
detailed below:

1. First insert the installation CD-ROM disk in your CD drive.


2. Locate the folder IP camera search tool and then look for the subfolder containing the operating
platform of your computer: For Windows OS or For Mac OS.
3. Copy and paste the IP camera tool file to your computer, or simply drag it onto your desktop.
Note: If your computer does not have a CD drive, you can download the IP camera tool directly
from our website for free.
4. Enable the DHCP feature of your router (which is normally set to this protocol by default).
Proceed to open the Equipment Search Tool, which is designed to find the addresses of the
NVR and cameras automatically in your LAN (Local Area Network).

7.1 Live view


Once the previous steps are successfully completed, the device enters automatically into the
Live View mode.
The user will have access to live footage captured by the cameras, in addition to configuration
parameters and icons representing the status of each device connected to the system.

5. Double click the IP address of the NVR from the list. This will cause your default browser
to open the NVR´s login page.
6. When logging in for the first time, you will need to download and install the IPCWebComponents.
We will use Internet Explorer in this example. However, for browsers like Google Chrome,
MAC OS, Safari or Mozilla Firefox, please refer to the user manual.

7. After installing the IPCWebComponents/add-ons, refresh the browser. The login window will
come up on the screen. The user will be then prompted to input the camera credentials.
Type admin for the user name and leave the password field blank, provided it was not previously
set up through the app or local interface. In this case, the system will prompt you to change
your password. The new sequence must be at least six characters long, composed of
alphanumerical characters. Should you wish to change the username, you can also configure
it at this point. 4
8. However, if your Password and/or User name were setup through the app or the local interface
in the previous sections, you must enter the newly assigned credentials. Language selection is
also possible in this step. When done, click Login to continue.

8. Remote access via DDNS


You can take advantage of our free DDNS service if you want to access your camera via a web
browser outside of your network. Please configure the following parameters as indicated below.
