"Air Conditioning" Interface

• The Universal Interface is able to send a new message type ChangeAirConState to turn on or
turn off a cabin air-conditioning system upon guest check-in or check-out via a PBX system
(Siemens).

• New column CAB_AIRCONENABLED is added to table CAB for storing the cabin air condition
status (1-Turn On, 0-Turn Off).

1. In the Universal Interface Settings tab, check the Enable Aircon Interface via PBX checkbox.
The Auto turn on aircon for reservation section will enable for setup.

2. Select the Start Time and Interval allows the interface trigger to check if there are expected
guest checking in to any cabin within the time frame which hasn’t got their air condition
activated. If found, then the interface will send the message to activate air-condition via the PBX
system.

3. The settings will be saved in the parameter file (FCSettings.par) together with the interface
trigger last run date and time.

[#FCUI.AIRCON.Last Run Time=17/01/2007 23:09:39#]

[#FCUI.Connection.Enable Aircon Interface via PBX=1#]
[#FCUI.Connection.Aircon Interface Start Time=22:00:00#]
[#FCUI.Connection.Aircon Interface Interval=1#]

4. If you manually check-in an expected guest in Management, the interface will send the message
to the PBX system in order to activate the guest cabin air-condition.

5. Below is the sample of the message:

<STX>ChangeAirConState<US>REF=KELVINXP<US>RQN=2402267<US>DTE=2007-01-17
21:33:07<US>CAB=08050<US>STA=1<ETX><ETX>

6. If the message is sent successfully to the PBX system then the interface will update the cabin
air-conditioning status. In this case, the new column CAB_AIRCONENABLED = 1 (Default will
be 0).

Universal Interface – Quick User Guide Page 39 of 46

7. If there are same person traveling with the same guest in the same cabin, the interface will only
send one message to the PBX system to activate the air condition.

8. If there is any cabin movement, the interface will send two messages to PBX system to
deactivate the air condition (from the original cabin) if it wasn’t anymore guest occupying that
cabin. Then, send another message to enable the air-conditioning for the new cabin.

9. Below is the sample of the messages:

If cabin movement still with guest occupying the same cabin. The interface will send a message
via the PBX system to deactivate the air condition for the new cabin and then send a message
to the PBX system to enable the phone for the new cabin.

Below is the sample of the messages:
