Thank you for choosing 520 inkjet printers! Please read this manual carefully before
operating in order to obtain the best results.

Tips1: Ink, solvents and cleaning agents are specially designed by the manufacturer
and can’t be substituted by other products in order to prevent damage to the machine.
Ink, solvents and cleaning agents are flammable, so they must be stored away from
sources of fire.
Tips2: The chassis must be firmly grounded, and for better performance, this
grounding had better be separated from other large equipment.
Tips3: A clean environment is required for this machine.
Tips4: This machine needs regular maintenance. For details see chapter 6.

Chapter 1 Safety rules

1-1 For inkjet printer operators

1. Inkjet printer operators need training by manufacturer before operation.


People untrained can’t operate inkjet printer.
2. Alcoholics or persons who have serious illnesses can’t operate inkjet printer.

1-2 Environment for placing inkjet printer

1. Inkjet printer should be placed in a clean and relatively dry environment. If


the environment is extremely humid or has a lot of water on the ground,
operators or service engineers have the right to refuse to maintenance and
operation until the environment gets better.
2. Ink, solvents and cleaning agents are flammable, so fire and smoking is
forbidden near the Inkjet printer.
3. Inkjet printer requires a separate grounding for better performance.

1-3 Preparation before power-on

1. Make sure that ink and solvents are enough.


2. Observing nozzle, charge tunnel, detection electrode and high voltage
deflection plate carefully. If there have remnant ink on them, please clean
them by cleaning agents.
3. Wait a moment for cleaning agents to completely volatile.
*When cleaning, inkjet printer should be power-down. If cleaning with power-on,
operators would be hurt and machine would be damaged, especially with high
voltage on (6000V or more). So cleaning nozzle must turn off high voltage!

1-4 Using inkjet printer

1. Check patch board, power wire, etc.


2. Check charge tunnel and high voltage deflection plate for short-circuit.
3. Power on. Then turn on ink feeding system.
4. If abnormal, shutdown inkjet printer and recheck it.
5. If everything is normal, observe breakpoints and printing effects, then make
the appropriate adjustment.

* When observing breakpoints, operators must turn off high voltage. Do not
touch the charge tunnel and high voltage deflection plate to avoid damage to
operators and machines.
* Operators should stand on dry ground.
* People who aren’t designated by manufacturer can’t repair circuit boards.
* People who aren’t designated by manufacturer can’t adjust high voltage
deflection plate.

1-5 Inkjet printer shutdown

1. First, shutdown ink feeding system.


2. Wait for returning to the “Main Menu”.
3. Cut off power of inkjet printer.
4. Clean nozzle, charge tunnel, detection electrode and high voltage deflection plate
by cleaning agents.
* Do not splash cleaning agents on the patch board or the power cord to avoid
corroding them.
* Do not splash cleaning agents into eyes. If so, please wash eyes with clean water
immediately.
* Do not mix cleaning agents and solvents together.

Chapter 2 Easy operation process

2-1 Process to start printing

1. Preparation (See 1-3, 1-4).


2. Power on. Then start up ink feeding system (Press Key “5” in the “Main Menu”).
3. If necessary, select “Editor” to edit print contents(See 5-3).
4. Turn on high voltage (Press Key “High voltage on”).
5. Start printing (Press Key “1” in the “Main Menu”)

2-1 Process to shutdown inkjet printer

1. Turn off high voltage (Press Key “High voltage off”).


2. Stop printing (Press Key “ENTER”).
3. Shutdown ink feeding system (Press Key “6” in the “Main Menu”).
4. Waiting for returning to the “Main Menu”.
5. Cut off power of inkjet printer.

Chapter 3 Machine performance parameters

Chapter 4 Installation and Debugging

4-1 Installation requirements

1. Place the inkjet printer on hard and flat ground.


2. Leave at least one meter from surrounding object and keep good ventilation.
3. Nozzle and photoelectric switches should be firmly mounted on the bracket.
4. Chassis and bracket are no vibration.
5. There should have “Fire warning” and “Water warning” signs near inkjet printer.
There should have at least one bottle of carbon dioxide fire extinguisher near the
machine, and have no flammable materials placed 3m radius around the machine
because the ink, solvents and cleaning agents are flammable.

4-2 Installation of components

Power Supply: Use 220V/50Hz AC power supply and make sure good grounding.
Grounding wire can’t be shared with other large power equipment.
Nozzle: First install the nozzle bracket. Then according to the direction of the
product’s movement, install nozzle and photoelectric switch on the bracket.

4-3 Debugging

After the inkjet printer’s installation, you can debug it following these steps:
1. Pour about 1/2 box of ink, and about 3/4 box of solvents.
2. Power on the inkjet printer.
3. Setting the printing parameters (See 5-4).
4. Turn on ink feeding system.
5. Observe breakpoints and printing effects.

In the “Main Menu”, press Key “0” to enter “Printing” page and start printing. In
“Printing” page, use Key “up” and “down” to move cursor, use Key “+” and “–” to
modify print speed, character height, and delay time, press Key “ENTER” to stop
printing and return to the “Main Menu”.

1. In the “Main Menu”, press Key “1” to enter print contents editor. First page is file
select and file parameters setting. Use Key “up” and “down” to move cursor, use
Key “+” and “–”to select the file to be printed (there are 20 files), set the dot
number of char matrix(if print alphabets and numbers, you can select 8 * 8 , 8 *7,
7 * 5, 7 * 6, 7* 7, 7 * 8; if print custom characters, Chinese, 16 * 8 characters,
your only option is 8 * 8), change line number, line space and widen factor.

2. Select a file and press Key “ENTER” to enter second page. For uppercase letters,
number, press the corresponding keys; For lowercase letters and punctuation,
press Key “SHIFT” + corresponding keys.
3. Press Key “Ctrl” + Key “Space” to change input method, the lower right corner
will display input method, including 7*6 Chars, 16*8 Chars, Pinyin, Custom Chars,
7*6 Counter, 16*8 Counter, 7*6 Timer and 16*8 Timer..
4. When printing the serial numbers, you should press Key “Ctrl” + Key “Space” to
change input method to “7*6 Counter” or “16*8 Counter”. And digits “one, ten,
hundred, thousand, ten thousand, hundred thousand, million, ten million” of
counter will be displayed as D0~D7 in selecting area. Select the corresponding
digit’s number to input them. For example, in eight-digits serial number printing,
you should press Key “7” down to “0”, serial numbers are shown as “76543210”
in editing area. When printing, the counter’s number will be printed on the
corresponding position.
5. When printing the dynamic time, you should press Key “Ctrl” + Key “Space” to
change input method to “7*6 Timer” or “16*8 Timer”. Year, month, day, hour,
minute, second will be shown as “YY”, “MM”, “DD”, “hh”, “mm”, “ss” in selecting
area. Press the corresponding number to make your choice. For example, Press
Key “0”, “YY” will be shown in editing area. When printing, last two digits of year
will be printed.
6. When printing the custom chars, you should press Key “Ctrl” + Key “Space” to
change input method to “custom char”. Use Key “Page Up”, “Page Down” and
corresponding number keys to input custom chars.
7. After complete editing the printing file, press Key “ENTER” to save file and return
to the “Main Menu”.

5-4 Print settings

In the “Main Menu”, press Key “2” to enter “Print Settings” page. In “Print Settings”
page, use the direction keys to move cursor. Use Key “+” and “–” to modify print
mode, trigger mode, print quality and system time; Use number keys to change the
number of one count, the count to be printed, the maximum count, and the
minimum count. Press Key “ENTER” to save print settings and return to the “Main
Menu”.

5-5 Custom Characters

In the “Main Menu”, press Key “3” to enter “Custom Characters” page. In this
page, use Key “F1” to move cursor, use Keys “+” and “–” to select character and
modify the size of character. Move the cursor to the editing area, then use the
direction keys to move cursor in the editing area, use Keys “+” and “–” to set or clear
dot at the desired position. After complete editing characters, press Key “ENTER” to
save characters and return to the “Main Menu”.

5-6 System status

In the “Main Menu”, press Key “4” to enter “System Status” page. Then you can
see system working status.

5-7 Ink feeding to nozzle

In the “Main Menu”, press Key “5” to start up the ink feeding system. After
complete ink feeding, it will return to the “Main Menu” automatically.

5-8 Shutdown ink feeding system

In the “Main Menu”, press Key “6” to shutdown ink feeding system. After stop
ink feeding, it will return to the “Main Menu” automatically.

5-9 Nozzle Cleaning

In the “Main Menu”, press Key “7” to clean the nozzle. After clean the nozzle, it
will turn on ink feeding system and return to the “Main Menu” automatically.

5-10 Ink Passage Cleaning

In the “Main Menu”, press Key “8” to clean the ink feeding system. After clean
the ink feeding system, it will shutdown ink feeding system and return to the “Main
Menu” automatically.

5-11 Ink Passage Set

This option is for the manufacturer, it is used to set sensitive parameters and
these parameters have been set before the machine leave the factory. Machine
performance could be affected by improper changes, so this option is forbidden to
enter.

Chapter 6 Maintenance and Precautions

6-1 Maintenance

1. Inject Ink
When there is only 1/4 box of ink, please inject ink to 1 / 2 box.
2. Replace the ink
The ink service life is 600 hours. If an inkjet printer is used frequently, the ink can
be used continuously. If an inkjet printer is used seldom and no new ink is added
into the machine over 600 hours, the old ink should be discharged and replaced
with new ink.
The method to replace ink: Discharge the old ink and clean the ink box by
solvents. Then pour new ink into the ink box and start up ink feeding system.
3. Long-term shutdown maintenance
If the machine will not be used for less than two months, you should turn on ink
feeding system every 2-3 days, and let it running over 2 hours each time.
If the machine will not be used for over two months, the ink should be removed
and replaced with solvents. Then start up ink feeding system to replace the ink in
pipeline with the solvents. Repeated several times, until the pipeline are cleaned.

6-2 Precautions

1. Ink, solvents and cleaning agents are specially designed by the manufacturer and
can’t be substituted by other products in order to prevent damage to the
machine. Ink, solvents and cleaning agents are flammable, so they must be
stored away from sources of fire.
2. If a sudden powering down occur, the machine should be turned off at once and
the nozzle should be cleaned up immediately.
3. Inkjet printer is better be used every day.
4. Water is forbidden to splash into inkjet printer and ink feeding system.
5. Don’t turn on/off ink feeding system frequently in one day. Otherwise, the ink will
be diluted by the solvents and make the inkjet printer can’t print normally.
6. Cleaning nozzle is forbidden after power-on. Clean nozzle only when the machine
is power-down.
7. Do not use conductive objects to contact charge tunnel and high voltage
deflection plate when the machine is power-on.

Chapter 7 Common Faults and Solution


Listed below are possible faults. The operators can solve these faults according
to the prompt. If other faults happened, you can contact the manufacturer for help.
Because of high-voltage at the electrical part of the machine, nobody are permitted
to touch circuit except professionals.
Common Faults Solution
Press the power switch, but no response Make sure that the power plug is plugged
in, the AC power output is normal, the
fuse is normal.
Ink line can’t enter the hole collector (1)Nozzle blocking: Use Nozzle Cleaning
to make nozzle open, see 5-9.

collector or the spray chamber; adjust the position of the collector or the spray
chamber.
3 Lack of points at the bottom of printing words The distance between ink line
and collector is too large; adjust the position of collector
4 There are little thin points around printing words The distance between ink line
and collector is too small; adjust the position of collector

5 Lack of points at the top of printing words Ink viscosity is too high, or there are
problems in thinner replenishment system
6 Breakpoints are normal but no dots printed
(1) SCMis interfered; reboot
(2) No high voltage, repower high voltage
(3)The position of photoelectric switch is incorrect
7 The detection light is always on after supplying ink (1) Detection pole is
wet;wait after washing with detergent (2) The distance between ink line and
detection pole is too large; adjust the position of detection pole (3) There is hair on
the charging pole and high-voltage plate; clear it up (4) Breakpoints are bad, adjust
them.
8 The distance between breakpoints is too small (1) Ink viscosity is too high (2)
Nozzle clogged; Use the function of nozzle cleaning to make nozzle open, you can do

multiple times of cleaning.

The above five are typical phenomenon of ink droplets.


(1)Dropletsare normal, ink viscosity is proper and the machine can print properly.
(2) There are satellite dots between droplets, but satellite dots can catch droplets,
the machine can normally print.
(3) Dropletsare braided, ink viscosity is too low, the machine cannot print properly.
(4) The distance between droplets is too small, the ink viscosity is too high, the machine cannot
print properly.
(5) There are satellite dots between droplets, the ink viscosity is inappropriate, improper
nozzle diameter (nozzle was block a little), the machine cannot print properly.

(1) Adjustment method in the horizontal direction.


(a) Loosen the screw A, B and C that locking in the horizontal direction slightly.
(b)Adjust screw according to the graph, adjust the position of ink line.
Positionof ink line is at about the center of recovery hole, and slightly closer to the high-voltage
side of the deflection plate.
c) Tighten the locking screws A, B, Chorizontally.

(2)Adjustment method in the vertical direction


a) Loosen the screw A, B and C that locking in the vertical direction slightly.
b) Gently press the icon in the vertical direction to suppress the gun.
c) Adjust screw according to the graph, adjust the position of ink line.
d) Tighten the locking screws A, B, C vertically.
