DESIGN CONCEPT
 The design concept was to localise the international Audi Terminal
template to suit the site and local conditions, whilst ensuring a
consistent corporate branding. Hence, although space constraints
resulted in the building’s uncharacteristic semi-circular shape,
Audi's signature look is evident in elements such as the building's
curved wall.

 The façade is clad in

aluminium with hexagonal cut-
outs forming a honeycomb
pattern, while full-height glass
windows for the lower floors
make the building appear to
float off the ground. Located
at the junction of Leng Kee
Road and Alexandra Road,
the Audi Terminal also had to
contend with its close
proximity to the MRT train
track.
SITE PLAN
The site for Audi Centre is along the Alexandra Road on
one side and Leng Kee Road on the other side.

DESIGN INTERVENTIONS

• Given the site's close proximity to an MRT

train track and the limited site area, the Audi
Terminal's design is a feat of creativity that
stays true to the Audi brand whilst
successfully cementing its place as a
landmark in the local landscape.

 As the Audi Terminal's foundations are

mere centimetres away from those of the
train track columns, the columns were
monitored during construction through
the use of lasers.
 The jury celebrates Turning the tight site constraints into opportunities, the architect created an
atypical typology of vertical stacked car showroom, servicing and sales, its curved façade showcases
a bold design cleverly optimized change that reinvents the conventional horizontal design and
experience of other Audi car showrooms worldwide.
 Interestingly, through the stacking, besides enhanced operational efficiency and flow of customers,
the vertical progression of various programmes also heightened experience of vitality and prestige for
visitors moving from one level to another.
 Externally, the hexagonal cut-outs of aluminium of honeycomb pattern coupled with the full-length
glass windows gives the impression of the building floating off the ground while adding a sense of
futurism. This sophisticated outlook aims to resonate within onlookers Audi’s signature branding
image.
