Cheg 3333 Cstrs Spring 2017

The document provides homework assignments for a chemical engineering class on continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR) design. Students are instructed to complete two textbook problems and prepare a table and plot showing how reactor volume varies with conversion for a first-order irreversible reaction based on two different rate constants. The table should show reactor volume as a function of conversion for the given reaction conditions and rate constants.

Homework—CSTR Design

1. Do problem 5.4 in your textbook.

2. Do problem 5.12 in your textbook.

3. We are going to look at required reactor volume as a function of conversion in a CSTR. A CSTR is
used for the first order irreversible aqueous phase reaction
