GAS LEAK CHECKLIST

ACTION

1. Inform Maintenance and call Fire and emergency services

2. Evacuate buildings and/or areas of campus as necessary

3. Close off buildings or areas and deploy Security staff at a safe distance to prevent
persons entering a risk area.

4. Set up diversions if necessary for persons and traffic.

5. Inform University Safety Office

6. Maintain protective cordon until area made safe

7. Inform University Press Office

8. Consider evacuation of the Security Centre if gas permeates the building. Security to
utilise other accommodation until safe to reoccupy and the building has been
ventilated.
