1) A shear box test was conducted on a soil sample, yielding proving ring divisions at zero force, peak shear forces for hanger loads of 3kg, 10kg, and 20kg. The proving ring constant is 1.1 N/division. Determine the shear strength parameters. 2) Calculate the factors of safety for a 1.5:1 long slope with a weak cohesive layer at 1.8m depth with Cu=24kN/m2, γ=18.5KN/m3. 3) Factors affecting mechanical soil stabilization include cement stabilization, lime stabilization, and mechanical stabilization.
