Wiring Modifiacations For Automation

Modifications are being made to the wiring for automation of a power plant. Relay outputs from the sequencer will be assigned to new terminals to indicate operational states like unit start up and speed. Signals will be generated for governor failure and faults. Transducers for measurements like voltage, temperature, pressure, water flow and lake/tailrace levels will have their outputs connected to I/O and analygoue input channels. Additional indications and alarms will be added to the annunciator and control room.

Wiring modifications for Automation

Modifications in sequencer

Sequencer out put Q45-Q59 to be assigned to the following sequencer states. This requires software
modification as shown

Sequence Status Out put relay

Note that N/O contacts of the relays RL45 –RL59 & RL61-RL62 are already wire to TB2 terminal
45T&B – 59T&B

To generate the following indications wire the Extra N/O contact of the following relays to TB2 the
sequencer failure alarm still has to be engineered

On the circuit Breaker control supply cct change the ferrule L200 (TB2 /112T+TB2/113B) and Link
terminal (LK17) to L210 and L201 (TB2/ 94b +TB2/24B) and fuse terminal (FS17) to L211. This is

because L200 and L201 are used in the Unit TX supply available indication circuit advice P2 to
modify drawing as well

Modifications in the Governor

To generate signals for Governor fail and governor fault
Loop L1 in Gov. Panel to terminal 9 on R5&R6 (in governor) and connect L5 to terminals 11 on R5&R6 (in
governor) this will generate the governor fault t signal
Connect L5 to terminal 95 on B50X1.
Connect spare core No 5 in cable 1G006 to L5 and connect the other end onto TB1 in the turbine panel
No the Core No 6 in 1G006 is wired to B50x1:116 is labelled L26 mistakenly, change ferrule to L4 and
connect the other end onto TB1 in the turbine panel
