Rohan Research Paper

The document describes a metamaterial-based antenna designed for cancer detection through microwave imaging. It provides a table comparing the performance metrics of the proposed antenna and 7 other antennas for various medical imaging applications. The proposed antenna has a bandwidth of 3.4-12.5 GHz, dimensions of 16x21 mm, and a gain of 1.0-5.16 dBi, making it suitable for microwave breast imaging. Simulation results show the antenna can detect tissues at distances of 10-40 mm from the skin surface due its ultra-wide bandwidth even at close distances.

PHANTOM MODEL
The skin layer has the following properties:

dielectric constant = 38, thickness = 2.5 mm, and conductivity = 1.49 S/m.

The tissue layer has the following properties:

conductivity = 0.141 S/m and dielectric constant = 5.14

Fig: PHANTOM MODEL: DISTANCE BETWEEN ANTENNA & PHANTOM MODEL IS 10mm

Results of the simulation between the antenna and the breast for different distances such as 10 mm, 20
mm, and 40 mm. It can be observed that proposed antenna shows its ultra-wideband characteristic, even
when it is very near the tissues.
