Data
Stated in the figures below are the data gathered from the testing of the Parkinson’s Tremor stabilizing
spoon.
Shown in the tables below are the results gathered by the group. The testers were asked to grade and
assess every parameters set and were graded from 1 to 5. 1 being the lowest, 5 being the highest. The
parameters include the spoon’s stability, the weight of the device, the reaction time, and functionality of
the project.

Since the group could not find a person with Parkinson’s disease, the group then decided to test the
project using each member. Each one would use the spoon and imitate a tremor-like motion. In the data
shown above, the reaction time between the servo and the gyroscope are almost instantaneous, but not
fast enough to generate an extra force.
Since the program only counters the tilting motion experienced by the gyroscope, it could not prevent
extreme horizontal and vertical movement which sometimes results into spillage of the content of the
spoon. In this case, the Parkinson’s tremor stabilizing spoon is only intended for minimal tremors and is
not suitable for extreme horizontal and vertical motion and movement.
Overall, the group considers this project as a success. All of the important parameters are graded above
average. The functionality of the project, overall, is considered to be above the group’s expectation.
With this, the Parkinson’s tremor stabilizing spoon is now ready for testing for patients with real
Parkinson ’s disease.
