This document summarizes an oscilloscope experiment conducted by John Jason M. Caringal. The objectives were to learn how to use an oscilloscope, identify its parts, and understand different alternating waves. A function generator and oscilloscope were used, with signals configured on both devices. Controls on the function generator were adjusted and the effects on the oscilloscope's display were observed and documented. Turning the amplitude control up increased voltage values while turning it down decreased values. Turning the frequency control up decreased wavelength while turning it down increased wavelength. Turning the duty cycle control up increased the amplitude ratio while turning it down decreased the ratio.

Abstract

The main objective of this session was to understand and become familiar with
the use of two devices: the oscilloscope and the function generator. To do this, a set of signals
were configured in both devices to see how it was reproduced. The signal generator substituted
the mains as source to be able to reproduce waveforms and finally the modes of operation of the
oscilloscope were tested.

Introduction

screen. As it can be seen, the oscilloscope
has two input channels, a green phosphorus Materials and Method
screen, and several knobs. The most used
knobs are the voltage division and time -Oscilloscope
division knobs. They control the y and x
axis of the graph, respectively.
-Function Generator 2. Turn on the function Generator and
Oscilloscope.

3. Then turn the amplitude control up and

down and write down what you have
observed.

4. Then turn the frequency control up and

down and write down what you have
observed.

5. Then turn the duty cycle control up and
down and write down what you have
observed.

Results and Discussion

When you turn the amplitude control

1. Set up the function generator and
oscilloscope directly connected using probes.

Turning up Conclusion and Recommendation

In this experiment the group

familiarized themselves with the equipment
used in this experiment. When it comes to
turning the amplitude control increasing the
value will increase the +-values for the Y axis
and vice versa. In turning the frequency
control as the value for frequency increases
the wavelength in the graph deceases and
vice versa. Finally for turning the duty cycle
control as the value increases the the
amplitude ratio increases and vice versa.

Thoughts about the Experiment:

This experiment was a success with

my group mates because we did the
experiment in a calm and orderly manner
where everyone was participating and
cooperating.
