MARRIAGE MINUTE
What does the future hold?
We ask this question a great deal. Will it bring fortune? Will it bring suffering? In many ways, we
can lose our focus on what matters by worrying about the future.
Jesus recognizes this temptation in his disciples as he ascends into heaven. Focus on the coming
of the Holy Spirit, and everything else will take care of itself. Whether things are going great or
we are experiencing struggles in marriage, we can apply the same advice. Try the following:
• First, ask the Holy Spirit to be more present in your life and marriage.
• Ignore distractions like cell phones and television, and spend intentional time with your
spouse.
• Share daily with your spouse one experience of God from that day.
Prayer is the key to fuel this awareness. Explore “Foundation” at
