There are three independent supplemental oxygen


systems installed on A320 Series aircraft.

Cockpit fixed (crew) oxygen

Cabin fixed oxygen system for the passengers and


flight attendants.

Portable oxygen system (i.e., walk-around bottles)


for crew and passengers.

RED GRIPS N/100% SELECTOR
Used to remove the mask from the box 100% - Mask delivers 100% oxygen
and inflate the harness. N – Mask delivers an air O2 mix

EMERGENCY pb
Pushed and held – a positive flow of
oxygen is supplied to the mask.
Rotated clockwise – continuous positive
pressure is supplied to the mask.

Mask Testing
The mask is tested during the preflight without
having to remove it from the storage box.
To test the mask:
• Select the INT/RAD switch to the INT
position.
• Push and release out the INT reception knob
and adjust the volume.
• Adjust the loudspeaker volume.
• Transmit your intentions over the interphone
to warn ground crew who may be listening.
• Then do this…

OXY ON flag is only a factor if the mask


has been removed from the storage box.

Solid state chemical oxygen generators

Oxygen stations are located :


• Above the passengers seats (3 & 4 mask units)
• In the lavs (2 mask units)
• In the galleys (2 mask units)
• At the flight attendant stations (2 mask units)

The oxygen masks automatically

The flow of oxygen starts when a mask is pulled down and extended toward the
user and lasts approximately 15 minutes.

The cabin oxygen masks can be manually deployed by pushing the OXYGEN
MASK MAN ON pb.

The SYS ON light illuminates if the signal has been sent to deploy the masks,
either automatically or manually.

Portable Oxygen System
Several portable oxygen bottles are stored throughout the cabin.
They are available for first aid use or as walk-around units
following a loss of cabin pressure.

Each bottle has a mask attached and supplies oxygen


for approximately 65 minutes.
