1. Immediately on receipt of the Admit Card, please check that it bears your photograph, specimen signature, course
applied for, student registration ID and ensure that the Centre details, etc. are also printed on it. In case of any error,
please contact/write to [email protected] immediately. Admit card is valid only for the test date and the
centre/venue mentioned on the Admit Card.

2. Once at the Test Centre you will be required to produce a hard copy of the Admit Card along with any other valid Original
photo ID card. In the absence of a hard copy of the Admit Card and Photo Identity Card, you will be denied
entry to the Test Centre.

3. It is advised that you visit the Test Centre a day or two before the test to avoid any inconvenience on the day of the Test.

4. You are advised to report at the Test Centre at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the Test.

5. Entry to the Test Centre will commence 45 minutes before the time specified for the commencement of the Test in each
session. All candidates should be inside the Test Centre 15 minutes before the scheduled time of the Test. No candidate
shall be permitted to enter the hall after commencement of the Test.

6. Candidates should carefully read and follow the instructions that appear on the computer screen at the start of the Test.

7. The test will be in English language only. It will be an on-line MCQ-based test of two hours duration.

8. An incorrect answer will lead to the deduction of a quarter of the marks assigned to that question in all papers except for
the MA and PhD papers in International Relations and Sociology.

9. Upon arrival at the Test Centre, please contact the Registration Help Desk and register your presence by showing your
Admit Card. After registering, occupy the seat assigned to you, as directed by the Test Centre officials.

10. Log in using the user ID and your Date of Birth and check that your name appears in the top left hand corner of the
screen when you start the Test.

TEST CENTRES/PREMISES
11. You will not be able to download or print or open any other application on your computer or access any website during
the Test.

12. Make sure that you sign the attendance register in ink against your name in the appropriate place. Do not leave the Test
Centre without signing the attendance sheet.

13. Try and ensure that you do not need a break during the Test. If you do, please note that the timer will not be stopped
during the break. Also, you are not allowed to access any prohibited item such as mobiles, notes or guides during the
break.

14. In case the computer allotted to you crashes or develops some problem, bring it to the notice of the invigilator
immediately. The invigilator will organize another computer for you. The time on the new computer will start from the
time the test stopped in your earlier computer so that there is no loss of time for you.

15. Any candidate found either copying or receiving or giving assistance will be disqualified. Any malpractice in the test shall
attract action that is deemed to be fit by the invigilator and the University.

16. Use of calculators and/or such devices is/are allowed only in papers in which this is clearly stated.

17. No candidate shall bring with him/her into the Test hall or carry on his/her person any paper, book, notes or any other
material, nor shall he/she communicate with any other candidate in the Test hall or in the premises, when the test is in
progress. However candidates can carry a pen/pencil. A blank A4 size paper shall be provided at the Centre and
candidates may do any rough work/calculations if required, on the blank sheet provided. Candidates are required to write
their registration ID immediately on the blank sheet upon receipt and to submit it back to the invigilator immediately at
the end of the Test.

18. No eatables are allowed in the Test Centre.

19. All candidates must follow the instructions of the Centre Superintendent and the invigilator(s) at all stages of the Test.

20. Smoking, chewing of tobacco, betels, intoxicants, etc. are strictly prohibited in the Test hall.

21. Mobile phones and other electronic devices are not allowed in the Test Centre. Please note that mere possession of a
mobile phone in the Test Centre whether in switch off mode or silent mode shall also be deemed to be resorting to unfair
means.

22. The Test Centre will not make any arrangement for the safe keeping of mobile phones, electronic gadgets, bags or any
other item pertaining to candidates.

23. Candidates are required to maintain complete discipline in the Test Centre and any misdemeanour on their part (i.e.
talking to, receiving/giving any help, copying from any text, defying instruction of the Invigilator etc.) will be considered
to be tantamount to adoption of unfair means and the candidate concerned will be expelled from the Centre and will be
subject to such other action, as deemed fit, by the University. Such a candidate can submit his/her justification in writing
through the Centre Superintendent.

24. The Centre Superintendent has absolute power to expel a candidate from the Test Centre if, in his opinion, a candidate
has misbehaved or has obstructed him/her or any other official on test duty in carrying out his/her duties.

25. In case of any inadvertent mistake in the framing of a question in the question paper, an email can be sent at
[email protected] within two days of the date of the Test stating the student’s subject, registration number and
name.

26. Test Centres have been advised to frisk candidates before allowing them entry to the Test Centre to ensure that
candidates do not carry items like mobile phones, pen drives and/or any electronic/smart gadgets, or other prohibited
items into the Centre. Candidates are required to co-operate with the test conducting authorities. Candidates who do not
allow frisking can be denied entry to the Test Centre.

27. Candidates are not permitted to log out/switch off the computer to go to the washroom and if they log out/switch off, NO
re-login will be permitted. Further, candidates are informed that the time taken for going to the washroom will be
reckoned as part of the duration of two hours permitted to them to answer the question paper.

28. If the test does not commence at the scheduled time or there is delay due to failure of power, a technical snag of
whatsoever nature or for any such reason having bearing upon the conduct of test, candidates must:

1. Wait till resumption of power supply/solving of technical snag.


2. Take the Test at another venue if necessary and as arranged by the Centre Superintendent.
3. Follow instructions given by the Centre Superintendent.
4. In such cases, the time lost till the resumption of the Test will be compensated.
29. The following are not permitted:

1. Attempting to take the test for someone else, i.e., impersonation


2. Giving or receiving assistance of any kind during the Test, and communication in any form with other candidates or
with outsiders, etc.
3. Leaving the Test Centre without the permission of the invigilator/before the scheduled time
4. Using prohibited aids, items not allowed, such as, mobile phones, pen drives, tabs, notes, papers, electronic diaries,
watch alarms, listening devices and recording or photographic devices.
5. Attempting to copy the question paper and /or test responses.
6. Any misconduct or misbehaviour or creating disturbance in the test.

Candidates are required to extend full cooperation during the test.
