Question 2- what is digital image processing ?? discuss some of it major

applications.
answer- the field of digital image processing is refers to processing of digital
image by means of digital computer
digital image processing requires a computer to pocess images and two special input
/ output equipments an image digitilizer an image display device
the physical image is devided in to horizontal lines of adjaxrnt pixels
the number inserted into the digital image at each pixel location reflects the
brightness of the image at the coressponding point
the conversion process itself is called digitiligation and a common form is
ilustrated in fig.1.2.1.
at each pixel location the brightness of the omage is sampled and quantized
for each pixel this step generates an integer respresenting the brightness or
darkness of the image at that point .
