I am currently in my third year of an undergraduate honors degree in Freshwater & Marine Biology in
GMIT and work part-time in a European perch hatchery, Keywater Fisheries. I am very passionate about
fish health, aquatic, environmental and conservational studies. I am a member of the European
Aquaculture Society (EAS) & have recently been given the role of National Coordinator for the student
group.

SUPERVISOR, GALA CONVENIENCE STORE
In this role, my responsibilities included: dealing with the public and any customer issues,
opening and closing the shop, general maintenance, closing registers, matching dockets & placed
orders and counting earnings at the end of each shift.

INTERN, FISH VET GROUP, GALWAY
In this role, my responsibilities included: general health checks of Atlantic salmon and lumpfish,
gill and skin scrapes, microscopy, dissecting and sampling fish for histology, pre-movement
checks on salmon smolts, sampling lumpfish for bacteriology, parasitology and histology, taking
blood samples from Atlantic salmon, general lab duties, research and study of available material .

ACTIVITIES
I have completed a workshop in fish welfare run by Fish Vet Group and Percid Culture workshop run by
the European Percid Fish Culture Group. I am also a member of the Irish Whale & Dolphin Group and

have taken part in a Cetacean Identification workshop. I have completed training with Seal Rescue
Ireland and am a listed volunteer for strandings. Recently attended the European Aquaculture Society
conference in Montpellier. I have volunteered in Galway Atlantiquaria and undertook a range of various
jobs. I am a qualified basketball coach & referee. I very actively participate with my local club and coach
many underage teams and voluntary referee. I hold a full clean Irish driving license for almost 8 years
and own a car.
