Week 7 Blog

This weekly journal entry from Week Seven discusses the student's filming preparation and experience. They learned from planning that unexpected issues can arise and thorough preparation is important. Issues encountered included actors cancelling last minute, which was difficult to overcome. To prepare, they booked equipment in advance, packed bags early, and communicated clearly with actors. Locations were organized through walking, trains, and public transport. While on track, they need to complete broll filming over the weekend to stay on schedule.

Week Seven–Filming

PLANNING

What did you learn from your planning I was able to learn from planning this week that there is a lot
this week? needed to insure that I am 100% prepared and set for filming
as I could possibly encounter different problems during that
time therefore by having thorough planning completed I am
organised and not worrying as much as I could be if I hadn’t of
planned ahead.
I also learnt that even with planning things might not go straight
according to how you want them to go

What issues did you encounter and The issues I ha e encountered are things such as actors not
how did you overcome them? turning up or cancelling. This was big for me as they were
really important actors and it was difficult for me to find backup
actors who fit the criteria that I was looking for which made it
twice as stressful however I was able to sort out more dates
the following week so I could film them in time to complete my
draft I also encountered problems with things like trains and
transport, because I was filming on a back holiday weekend it
meant that the trains and certain lines in London weren’t
running which was unfortunate however, I was able to
reschedule more dates for filming broll.

I also was able to make more dates for filming actors which i
filmed on the Tuesday of this week

How did you ensure that you are

prepared for filming? To ensure I was prepared for filming I made sure I booked all
the equipment I needed says in advanced and also packed my
bags prior so I wasn’t forgetting anything and not rushing on
the days of filming. I also made my actors aware again of
filming dates however still they still managed to forget
How did you ensure that your I didnt have much equipment overall i am using a c mount and
equipment lists were completed to a a camera which i am borrowing from the henley college whichi
high standard? filled a form for and i also used a tripod which was my own.

How have you ensured your actors . I made my actors aware again of filming dates at the begining
and crew will be available? of the week via email and text making sure they understood
where and when we were filming however still they still
managed to forget

How well have you been able to It was extremely fortunate and two of my filming locations were
organise locations and transport? in Henley therefore I was access to walk and trains as I go to
college every day and so did my crew, I also had public
transport options for London like trains and also the
underground taxis and also buses

Are you on track for the week? If not, Behind, still need to film broll on the weekend
how far behind are you?

What work do you need to complete Broll

outside of lessons to stay on track?
