The partition of Palestine and the formation of modern Israel

 Balfour declaration of 1947 (efforts to establish a Jewish homeland received British approval

 1930 Jewish prosecuted by hitler regime poured into Palestine

 The post world war 2 acknowledgement of holocaust ( destruction , mass scale)

 Hitter’s Genocide of 6 million of jews – increased international interest and sympathy for the
cause of Zionism

 British Mandate to govern Palestine (1923 – 1947)

 UN voted to partition Palestine into jewish state , arab state and small international zone

 Arab rejected idea , but the plan move forward

 British officially withdrew on may 14 , 1948 and jewish national council proclaimed the
state of Israel

Hostility broke out almost immediately after the state of Israel was proclaimed.
though Britain abstained, Israel was quickly recognised by the US , France , and the
soviet union
