BFT 40504 : ADVANCED TRAFFIC ENGINEERING

Group project instruction

1. Work in a group consisting of 5 members

2. Collect traffic flow data during peak hour at the following intersection
a. UTHM intersection (group 1)
b. Fujitsu Intersection (group 2)
c. Taman Melewar Intersection (group 3)
d. Parit Raja Intersection (group 4)
e. Tesco Intersection (group 5)
f. Parit Botak intersection (group 6)

3. Analyse the data and determine the capacity of the intersection. You can either using
SIDRA or VISSIM to determine the delay, queue and LOS.

4. Propose any improvement can be made to improve traffic flow at the intersection and
estimate percentage of improvement from the current traffic.

5. Your report should contain the following:

a. Introduction
b. Methodology
c. Data presentation
d. Analysis & result
e. Discussion & conclusion

6. Submit your report in week 10

Marks : 25%
