LESSON PLAN

I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. Define Drafting
b. Classify common drafting tools and materials
c. Familiarized themselves on these tools and materials

III. Instructions:
A. Motivation
1. “class, what is difference between drawing and drafting?”…….. Drawing is a
freestyle way of sketching self-thought ideas. While drafting on the other hand
is drawing precisely and accurately with the use of drawing instrument

( I will going to show a picture……the first one is a drawing of a “flower”,


While the second one is a “ house drawn in a perspective view)
“ can you tell me which among these two represents an image done through
drawing/drafting?”

B. Presentation:
*Teaching point
Drafting- is the study of the communication of ideas through lines, symbols.
Codes, drawing. Sketching, charts, graphs, and maps.
Drawing- is an art of sketching an idea which commonly done freehand
Common Drafting Tools and Materials

Tools
Pencil- the drawing pencil is one of the draftsman most important tools
categorized by different grades of hardiness and softness
T-square- it is used for drawing horizontal lines and serves as a guide for
triangles when drawing other kind of line
Ruler- is used to draw straight line
Triangular Scale- also known as “architect’s scale” its purposed is to reduce the
dimensions of and object full size on the drawing or enlarge them to some regular
proportion.
Lettering pen or Speedball pen- these are used for drawing letters of different
styles
Drawing Compass- generally used for drawing arcs and circle
Dividers- are used for dividing lines into any number equal parts, and transferring
measurement and spacing points or lines.
Protractor- a semi-circular scale divided into 180 equal parts each of which is
called a degree. (°). And is used for measuring and laying out arcs of circle as
well as angles that cannot be measured the 45° or the 30° x 60° 𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑙𝑒𝑠
French curve- this is used for drawing irregular curves.
Eraser- used to remove smears, pencil or ink lines and other unwanted marks
Erasing shield – made up of metal or celluloid with irregular holes. It is useful to
protect the rest of thedrawing when making an erasure.

Application
:Some students will be asked in front to choose one among the drafting tools and materialson the
table and be able to tell to the class the name and function of the specific draftingtool/material
chosen.4.

IV. EVALUATION:
