This document contains instructions for a student's project assignment. The student is enrolled in an EE304 feedback control systems course. The project has three questions that require the student to: [1] Model and simulate an automobile suspension system transfer function in MATLAB; [2] Model and simulate three electrical circuit transfer functions in MATLAB; [3] Model and simulate an electro-mechanical system transfer function in MATLAB. 1. Model the automobile suspension system (find transfer function, i.e. TF) and simulate
it in Matlab with the following parameters:

(M1) 1/4 bus body mass 2500 kg

(M2) suspension mass 320 kg

(K1) spring constant of suspension system 80,000 N/m

(K2) spring constant of wheel and tire 500,000 N/m

(b) damping constant of suspension system 350 N.s/m

2. Plot the impulse and step responses.

1. Consider the figure below and model the following electro-mechanical system (find
transfer function, i.e. TF) and simulate it in Matlab with the following parameters:

(J) moment of inertia of the rotor 3.2284E-6 kg.m^2

(b) motor viscous friction constant 3.5077E-6 N.m.s

(Kb) electromotive force constant 0.0274 V/rad/sec

(Kt) motor torque constant 0.0274 N.m/Amp


(R) electric resistance 4 Ohm

(L) electric inductance 2.75E-6H

Note: Use velocity as input instead of position.
