Environment
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.9
• Installed Cisco driver: kmod-enic-2.3.0.27-rhel6u8.el6.x86_64
• Installed Cisco driver: kmod-fnic-1.6.0.27-rhel6u8.el6.x86_64
Issue
• The system hung and the below messages were seen in /var/log/messages
Feb 12 19:36:18 hostname multipathd: mpathl: sdab - tur checker timed out
Feb 12 19:36:18 hostname multipathd: checker failed path 65:176 in map mpathl
Feb 12 19:36:18 hostname multipathd: mpathl: remaining active paths: 3
Feb 12 19:36:18 hostname kernel: device-mapper: multipath: Failing path 65:176.
Feb 12 19:36:19 hostname multipathd: mpathj: sdd - tur checker timed out
....
Feb 12 19:36:04 hostname kernel: enic: 0000:06:00.0:Timed out devcmd 4
Feb 12 19:36:04 hostname kernel: enic: 0000:07:00.0:Timed out devcmd 4
Feb 12 19:36:04 hostname kernel: enic: 0000:06:00.0:Timed out devcmd 4

Resolution
• Remove these drivers and reboot, reverting to the default inbox drivers included
with the base kernel install.

• Red Hat Enterprise Linux ships with a supported driver that has been thoroughly
tested, and will not cause this same issue. Use the driver included with Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 6.9 (kernel version 2.6.32-696).
