They make us get creative and personal, which is

What is a Story and how do I use it?
- Stories are like posts, except they show up in your
‘Story’ instead of your profile.

- Stories disappear after 24 hours.

- They show content in video and slideshow


formats.

- Each story lasts 15 seconds.

- You can add text, stickers, interactive content like


polls and location, doodles, filters and more.

- Your audience cannot comment on your story, but


they can ‘reply,’ which comes in the form of a
private message!!! YES! This amazing feature
allows you to build relationships, which is the
key to running an online business!!

To create a story:
1. Click the camera icon in the top left corner, or
click on the box that says ‘Add To Story’ in the top
left portion of your screen.

2. Take a photo or video OR upload a photo or


video (to shoot a video, you will press and hold the
button in the lower middle of your screen)

3. Play around with filters, text, interactive content,


doodles and more!

4. Press ‘Next’ in the bottom right hand corner


Select ‘Your Story’

5. If you want to share this as a post to your profile,


you can also select ‘News Feed.’ If you share a story
to your newsfeed, it will be on your profile forever.
It will not delete after 24 hours like stories do.

BOOM. Done!

Did you know that every time you post a new


story, your story is bumped to the top for all of
your friends to see?

Can I see who looks at my stories?


Yes you can! Click on your story, or your profile pic-
ture to watch your story. Swipe up on any story to
see who saw it and liked it!

Can I delete a story?

Yes again! Pull your story up and find the one that
you want to delete. When you find it, press the
three dots in the upper right hand corner of your
screen to delete that story.

Can I post a story on Instagram and automati-


cally post it to Facebook too?

Yes! Head over to Instagram and connect your


Facebook profile by clicking on your instagram set-
tings. This way, you can post your stories to Insta-
gram and automatically post them to Facebook!
You can do this with your regular posts as well, in
order to save tons of time!!
Ways To Use Stories

Entertain your followers


Share whatever you find enjoyable so that they can
get a glimpse of who you are. This will allow you to
build a following while sharing what you love. You
can also entertain with humor! Humor is one of the
best ways for us to connect and become relatable
to others.

Showcase your products and opportunity


Create curiosity in your product and opportunity,
so that your audience will want to learn more. You
can also:

- Post special offers and discounts


- Highlight new products
- New team members
- Team member recognition
- Promos, competitions and giveaways

Remember to focus on more than promotion when


it comes to your business! You can also celebrate
milestones, share videos of events and activities
that you attend, use humor, share free value, share
selfies, etc.

Remember that your audience loves natural


moments, and facebook stories give us a raw and
organic way to share authentic, time-sensitive
content!
Get to know what your followers think
Ask questions and take polls to learn more about
your audience and what they want.
Stories are GREAT for business, and you can do a
lot with them, but be careful to have balance be-
tween personal, value and business stories.

Tips when using Facebook and


Instagram Stories

Make it visually appealing


Get creative! My favorite app for creating awesome
graphics on my phone is the Over App. This app
keeps it super simple and allows you to use
graphics, photos from various sources, layers, text,
and much much more!

End with a call to action


Stories are the best way to bring your audience
into your messenger. Use call to actions to send
them free goodies and value! This will build trust,
friendships, and may lead to a partnership in the
future.

Use hashtags
Using a couple hashtags in your story can be great,
especially for instagram!! #MFvalue #MFleader #M-

mula hashtags.

Make sure that the hashtags you use, coorelate


with the story that you are posting. If you are cre-
ating a story about being a mom, a good hashtag
might be #momlife.

What makes stories great?


Stories force you to tell a story with their slide-
show and video format.
This allows your audience to connect to you and
build trust in a fun and interactive way.

They are up front and center


Stories are at the very top of the newsfeed. They
are the first thing that users see when they login!
And now they even chase you as you scroll, occa-
sionally popping up to remind you that they are
there. This means that they are great for grabbing
attention.

You can post stories on REPEAT


If you shared a great story that you love, don’t be
afraid to repeat it! Stories disappear after 24 hours,
so there is no reason to only use them once.

FOMO: Fear of Missing Out


Since stories disappear after 24 hours, users contin-
uously check stories because they are afraid that
they might miss something!
Personal Interaction
When your audience replies to your story, it is in
the form of a private message! Stories lead users
straight to your inbox, where you can begin build-
ing a relationship.
