LESSON PLAN Subject: Math

Trainee: Jawaher Hussain Topic or Theme: hands on :Greatest common factor

Ahmed

MST: Marnus

Class: 4/E Date & Duration: 14-4-2019

Trainee Personal Goals

I am working on the numbers to make the students know how to find the greatest common factor.

Recognize the prime factors of each number.

Lesson Focus

What is the "Greatest Common Factor "mean.

Find all factors of both numbers (use the All Factors Calculator),

Then find the ones that are common to both, and

Then choose the greatest between them.

Lesson Outcomes

Students will be able to understand how we can find the greatest common factor from the equation
and solve it.

Links to Prior Learning

Students know how to multiply and divide the numbers to get the answer.
21st Century Skills

Teacher will use the smart board to show a video and PowerPoint describe the lesson.

Students use the pyramid to sort the equations if true or false.

numbers so every time the tree will be
bigger.

Differentiation activities (Support)

Make different activities based on students' levels

Low level: give the students card contain the question on the middle (6,10) and on the parties, there
are many different answers and students have to answer the question first on paper by consulting
with their group and then choosing the answer by placing the clip on the correct answer.

Middle level: give them a balloon they have to decrepitate in order to get the small cards inside. On
the table there is a pyramid from the right is the true side and the left side is false so the students
will see the small cards it already contain the question with the answer but student has to decide if
the card is correct will put it in the true side and if its false will put it in the left side.

High level: students will take the A3 papers and they will create two numbers and multiply them with
different numbers to find the factor numbers then find the greatest common factor by putting a red
circle on it to discriminate.

Differentiation activities (Stretch)

Give each student paper they have to draw a three circle.

Firstly, put the first number the teacher will say then put the second number on the second circle. After
that in the middle will find the common factor between two number and highlight the greatest
common factor.
