company won’t keep the warranty and service.

6.6 Stainless Steel Maintenance

For protecting surface of stainless steel, users should pay attention to
following points to keep its fine appearance and prolong its service life.
1) Keeping clean is the most important thing for a machine. General dirt or
greasy dirt can be removed by detergent and water. If it is possible,
operator may finally use cloth to clean its surface. Regularly cleaning will
keep a bright and anticorrosive surface.
2) Remove the dirt in gaps and at corners of stainless steel. In order to avoid
scratch marks, operator must mop the surface in accordance with stainless
steel veining while using abrasive cleaner.
Never use primary steel wool or steel brush to clean. In result, carbon steel
grains will be inlaid stainless steel surface and cause rust. Operator may use
stainless steel wool or other nonmetal soft brush.
3) Keep from other metals. While meeting with salt or acid solution,
electronic corrosion will aggravate.
4) Discoloration caused by overheat and temper color may be removed with
some powder agent or special chemical solvent.
5) Keep from wood or carbon steel for a long term.
6) Don’t keep sterilization or bactericidal solvent in stainless steel container
for a long term, because there is chlorine in solvent, which will corrode
stainless steel.

29
7) Some parts made of iron or steel such as nail or screw will rust and
influence stainless steel. You may paint thick protective coating on carbon
steel parts to solve this problem.

Points for Attention: Any cleanser or other chemicals used for the
machine inside or outside must follow manufacture’s advice. Some
cleansers may be poisonous or flammable. In case of improperly using,
it might cause hurt. Never use volatile solvent, such as acetone, banana
oil, enamel reducer, tetrachloroethylene, gasoline, benzol, or other
volatile oil as cleaning agent!

Chapter 7 Operation Instruction

7.1 Outline
This chapter will introduce operation and functions of the main parts of this
machine .If there is any unclear point, please consult our headquarter or local
branch.

Warning:
Operator must cut off power, water and steam supply before maintaining,
repairing or opening panel!

7.2 Electrical Measurement

It is necessary for you to prepare an ammeter, voltmeter ohmmeter and a
multi-tester.
Ammeter is used to measure overload current, which may cause overloading
to breaker and fuse.
Voltmeter is used to measure voltage.

Warning: any person without electrician certificate is not permitted to

conduce electrical measurement.

Ohmmeter is used to measure resistance.

7.3 Inverter

30
All washing machines of this series have adopted inverter to change and
adjust speed, such structure has following advantages:
1. Compared with non-inverter type structure, it may save energy 30-50%.
2. Improve efficiency and operation quality, reduce the cost of maintenance.
3. The structure is more reasonable.
4. It is easy to implement fuzzy control.

Advice:
1. Don’t open the front cover while switching on or operating, it will get an
electric shock!
2. Don’t touch the inverter terminals while the front cover is removed, in
case of touching high voltage terminal and charging part, people will get
an electric shock!
3. Even if power is cut off, don’t remove the front cover except wiring or
regular checking. Otherwise, connecting inverter charging loop will cause
an electric shock.
4. Please cut off power and wait for 10 minutes, you may measure residual
voltage. Then you may wire or check.
5. The inverter should be grounding independently and firmly.
6. Wiring or checking job must be done by personnel in this specific field.
7. Don’t touch operation switch with moist hand to prevent an electric shock.
8. Motor over-current protection does not make full sure to protect motor
while superheating .It only sends out an output signal.
9. Don’t start or stop inverter frequently.
10. It is easy for inverter to set a high speed. Before changing set parameters,
please check the motor capacity and mechanical property. (Don’t change it
before approved by manufacturer.)
11. Please add holding function of the inverter and fix safety device.
12. Don’t input over-rated voltage to power input terminals (R.S.T). Never
connect power to other terminals, except R.S.T.
13. The operating temperature will seriously influence the service life of
inverter .Try reduce the working temperature as low as possible.
14. Don’t use magnetic contactor between inverter and motor to start
motor .You may control the start /stop through operation switch on the
inverter control board or input terminal (I1, I2)
15. Disconnect wires from inverter while measuring motor insulating
resistance.
16. Don’t force inverter overloading (e.g. over-rated current operating),
it may cause frequency- overload or deadlock.

process, you must number the air inlet and outlet hoses , connectors of
cylinder to avoid confusion while remounting .In case of confusion, the
drainage will be difficult .

In case of confusion, you may press the plastic button on connector and
exchange the air pipe only.

Points for Attention:

After remounting, please try to test drainage to make sure that the air
pipes have been connected correctly.
32
Advice:
1.The compressed air pressure should reach 0.4-0.5 MPa before use.
2.In case that the pressure is too low or the water drain valve has something
wrong, please don’t start the machine.
3.It is suggested that operator should check the water drain valve without
leakage.

7.5 Water and Steam Intake Valves

All machines are equipped with different water or steam intake valves. All of
water intake valves are diaphragm –type magnetic valves (220 V/AC), all
steam intake valves are piston type magnetic valves (220V/AC). If supplied
water is clean, valves will keep in good working condition. It is necessary to
mount a filter before each valve. If pressure is unstable, it is necessary to
mount a monostat.

Advice: In case that the valve can’t be opened or closed, it is suggested to

check it as follows.
1.Check the voltage with voltmeter whether there is an abnormal voltage
draw down.
2.Check magnetic valve coil whether it is burned.
3.Check the rated valve pressure whether it is accordance with water
pressure.
4.Check the clean condition of filter.
5.Check magnetic valve whether there is foreign body or impurity inside,
which may block small guide hole.
6.Check the guiding metal ring whether it is pulled out.

The door consists of a stainless steel ring mounted with press-frame handle,
hinge door glass and sealing rubber. The door glass is fixed on the stainless
steel ring by platen and bolts .The sealing rubber is coated with strong
adhesives to bond with stainless steel ring. While closing the door, the

34
pressure will press sealed between sealing rubber and flange. After a certain
days, the sealing rubber will be permanent set. You may adjust filler pieces
under the hinge fixed block and lock catch by the means of removing 1-2
pieces.
It is important to keep the concentricity between door and drum to prevent
from damaging garments.

Points for Attention: please keep the removed pieces carefully which
will be used in the future while replacing new sealing rubber.

Advice:
1. You must pay attention to the concentricity between door and drum while
adjusting door- sealing condition.
2. Never use gasoline or other petroleum base products to mop mantle ring
or other rubber products.
3. After finishing daily job, it is suggested to clean sealing rubber with soft
cloth and open the door to make sealing rubber relaxant.

7.7 Door Interlock Structure

Door interlock system is a safe structure to ensure no damage while
Accidentally opening.
The door locking system mainly consists of two parts:
1) Test system used to check the door closed or not;
2) Locking system used to lock the door.
Test system is located near the door hinge and switch on the adjustable base
plate. While the max. gap excesses 50 mm, the machine can’t be started.
While the machine is running, if the maximum. gap excesses 50mm, the
machine will be emergent cut-off.
Locking system consists of a cylinder near door handle and an adjustable
fixed plate. While the machine is running or water reaches low level,
cylinder will push piston rod into the hole of the fixed plate to lock the door
safely. So it is impossible to open the door while running. You may adjust
the over-travel limit switch as follows:
While the gap excesses 50 mm and the machine still keeps running, it means
that the distance between the contact of over-travel –limit switch and the
apron on hinge is not proper. You may loosen the screws on the base of
over- travel limit switch, (but needn’t disassemble it.) then adjust the switch
right or left to ensure the action in the range of 50 mm, or you may hear
“click” while opening the door within the range of 50mm. But if the
distance is too close, it will cause contact no function and damage.

35
Advice:
1. Before starting every day, operator must check whether the interlock
system is in good condition according to the above mentioned methods.
2. Before maintenance, don’t wet the switch to avoid short –circuit.

7.8 Over-vibration System

Over-vibration system is located in the front of left side and covered by side
panel .It consists of adjustable base plate, over-travel limits switch spring
and impact head (see Fig 7.5).
In case of over-vibration, the flange on case will touch the spring, which will
bring impact head to strike micro-switch to avoid over-vibration. In case of
over-vibration, the tested result will be sent to controller and come to
emergency braking to prevent over-vibration and protect machine and
persons .The properly setting distance for testing over-vibration is 12-15mm.
Any over-vibration will seriously damage the machine, even harm personal
safety. In case of over-vibration, you may restart the machine. Then it will be
relieved.
Suggestions for general test and maintenance:
1.Pull the spring to confirm it can strike micro switch within the distance of
12-15mm. (If the switch is triggered you may hear a “Click” sound.
2.If the trigger distance does not meet the needs of 12-15 mm, you may
loosen the screw on the adjustable base plate to a suitable distance, then
fasten it.

Advice:
1.Make sure that the over-vibration system is in good condition before
operating every day.
2.It is not allowed to remove over-vibration system.
3.It is suggested that operator should weekly check the trigger whether the
distance is in accordance with the requirement.

7.9 Belt Adjustment and Replacement

All motors of our washing machines are fixed on delta plates. Motor
adjustable bolt is mounted on the plate along the belt direction. The belt
tension can be adjusted through bolt (see Fig.7.6).

Fig. 7.6 Schematic Drawing of Belt Tension

37
Advice:
1.While using a new belt, the fit tolerance of belts should be as small as
possible to keep belts standing force equivalently. (Try to keep the belts in
the same group with the same length.)
2.In the process of tensing, the shaft line of belt wheel should be in
parallel .The symmetrical plane of V belt of each belt wheel should match
together, the tolerance shouldn’t excess 0.2 degree.
3.The central distance should be adjusted as less as possible while replacing
belt. Don’t force to enter in case of any bad effect of V-belt life.

7.10 Bearing and Main Shaft Sealing

1. The main shaft structure of XGQ –25F,XGQ-50F is basically similar. The
main shaft includes big belt wheel, bearing seat and sealing body. The
axial allocation of rear bearing is carried by the round nut, the other one
by bearing seat and cover. The structure of sealing body is similar with
XGQ-100F, XGQ-70F. Connecting and fixture between big belt wheel
and main shaft adopt conical bushing structure. For details, See Fig 7.7

38
2. Suggestions on replacing main shaft and sealing body:
1) Cut off power, water and steam supply
2) Remove all panels
3) Dismount the door from front flange. Support the drum and case to
prevent from overturning while dismounting the front flange.
4) Loosen screws on conical bushing, then dismount belt wheel.
5) Find and mark relative datum lines in the front of drum and case and at
the rear of main shaft and case respectively for correcting in the future
while re-installation.
6) For XGQ-50F, dismount rear bearing cover and front bearing cover. For
XGQ-25F, dismount rear bearing cover.
7) Loosen round nut of bearing seat group.
8) For XGQ-50F, pull out 4 pieces of tapered cotter from the bearing seat,
loosen the fastener, then pull out bearing seat. For XGQ-25F, use 6 pieces
of ∮8 round steel (with threads on both ends). Screw one end into screw
of rear bearing seat. Set another end with 12mm armor plate and place a
jack between the head of main shaft and armor plate. Press jack to make
main shaft move ahead and separate main shaft from bearing seat.
9) Remove four pressing nut on sealing ring.
10) Replace or repair bearing and sealing element.

39
11) Assemble it with a converse process.
Points for Attention:
1.Inject enough ZL3 lubricating grease.
2.Make sure that all parts keep clean while assembling.
3.Follow the datum line to find the position of drum and case.
4.Before assembling, disassemble and clean conical bushing, then inject
ZL3 lubricating grease. Fasten the nut in diagonal direction gradually
while assembling .The moment value is 81.3 N/M. After running 5
minutes, fasten it again to keep the moment value of 81.3 N/M.

7.11 Motor
All motors are conversion type .So the speed can be adjusted by inverter.

Advice:
1) In case of loudly electromagnetic noise coming from the motor, please
check its voltage.
2) If the motor moment comes down, please check the current values of
different phases are the same or not. If the tolerance excesses 15 %, check
the resistance and input voltage of different windings.
3) In case of suspecting that winding has burned or broken circuit, check
all 3-phase winding with an ammeter. Resistance value should be similar.

7.12 Fluviograph
Fluviograph is an electronic pressure switch to measure water level inside
machine .A connector fixed on sewage conduit is connected with the
machine through nylon hose and pressure switch.
If you find that the measuring result is wrong, please check connecting nylon
hose whether there is leaking, wrong connection or dropsy. The connection
place between air pipe and drainage valve should not hang down. Don’t let
water enter hose.

Advice: Don’t pull the hose connected with fluviograph to avoid leaking.

7.13 Shock Absorber

Shock absorber mainly includes spring buffer and hydraulic damper. With
joint action, the shock has been reduced and absorbed greatly .The vibration
transported to ground will be minimal.

40
Advice:
It is suggested that monthly check all springs whether there is any crack or
damage, or fatigue deformation, which will cause machine inclining.

7.14 Water and Steam Strainer

Strainers are enclosed with machine. Please connect them with water and
steam pipe. For installation, see Fig.7.14.
There is a mesh under the cap of filter to prevent foreign matter or rubbish
entering magnetic valve. They will influence magnetic valve working
properly or bring difficult while opening and closing.

Advice:
Clean mesh monthly. (If water quality is bad, clean cycle should be
shortened.) Neglect of installing and cleaning will influence the machine
operation. Following points for attention while cleaning filter:
1) Dismount the cap of mesh.
2) Dismount mesh and other filter elements.
3) Flush the mesh with water to remove all impurities.
4) Put the mesh into filter.
5) Screw the cap of mesh again.

7.15 Air Dehydrator

Air dehydrator is enclosed with machine. It must be fixed near balance pipe
located at the upper side of rear panel while connecting compressed air pipe.
For other parts, see Fig .7.15 components of Air Dehydrator

Fig.7.9 Components of Air Dehydrator
With the functions of filtering compressed air, dehydration, lubricating air
and adjusting pressure, air dehydrator will ensure magnetic valve and
cylinder in good working condition.
Before operation every day, please open ball valve and let compressed air
pass through. After finishing daily job, please close ball valve .It is
impossible to start the machine before compressed air has reached the
required pressure.

Suggestions on adjusting and maintaining air dehydrator:

1) Adjust the jaw opening of oil point. Generally, turn 1-2 rounds, oil path
will be fully opened. Operator may observe oil drip condition.
2) Turn the knob anti close-wise before supplying compressed air. Then
supply air and turn the knob close-wise gradually until pressure reaches
0.4-0.5 MPa, then lock it with braking knob.
3) Drain water from air dehydrator regularly.
4) While oil level is nearby the lowest level, please oil it to high level.
5) Clean filter core and water cup regularly.
