BANKING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

ABSTRACT
In a banking environment major operation involved on deposits, opening and closing of accounts
and sanctioning of loans. The manual maintenance of these activities may inculcate errors. So we
are resolving this by developing a software which will automatically support above specified
operations in systematic way with less time requirement.This project will be ensured by using VB
language.

INTRODUCTION
VISSION

Designing a software driven bank management system .

MISSION

To develop software for automated bank management system using VB language & MS access to
provide all financial transactions and services.

OBJECTIVES

 The main objective is to speed up the transactions done by customers.


 To Provide low interest of loans and advances for customers.
 To Ensure safety.

PROBLEM DEFINITION

Although the basic type of service offered by a depends upon the type of bank and the country,
services provided usually include: taking deposits from their customers and issuing current or
checking accounts and savings accounts to individuals and business. Extending loans to individuals
and business , cashing cheque. Facilitating money transactions such as cashiers cheque, consumers
and commercial financial advisory services, financial transaction can be performed through many
different channels.

EXPECTED OUTCOME

To develop a system that will overlook the activities going transaction the particular bank without
manual processing. All transactions will be updated automatically by using the information stored
in record. The main motive behind this project is to develop a system which will able to handle the
overall tasks going inside the institutions without much effort.

FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
1. Language:visual basic 6.0

2. Database:Microsoft access

HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS

1. Monitor - SVGA colour monitor


2. Ram -156 MB DDRAM
3. Hard disc capacity - 40GB
4. Processor - Pentium I (min.)
5. Speed – 2.7GHz(min.)

LITERATURE REVIEW
As information technology has became the backbone of banking activities. It has come up with a lot
of challenges. The banks are unable to introduced new services without the support of IT, it may be
customer service, deposits, withdrawal, financial transactions or any other banking activities. It
plays an important role not to complete the activity with high efficiency but also meet requirements.
Thus in our project we are automating these activities[1].

A study was conducted in rural bank marketing in Kerala and evaluated the product or services
offered by them. It was found that proximity, quick loan facility were influencing the customers
before the bank. It was also observed that the delay in sanctioning loans and procedural
inconvenient in rural commercial banks have passed the way for flourishing business[2].

This study was tried to find out problems of customers in transacting with bank branches and
services. It was found that a particular location and timing played a prominent role in selecting a
branch. About 33% responded faced problems with getting pass book entries updated[3].
