PROJECT RESEARCH PROPOSAL

THE PROPOSAL OF THE PROJECT SHOULD INCLUDE ALL OF THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:

Abstract: A summary of the Master’s project research within 200-400 words (not exceeding one
page).

Introduction: A preliminary part of a research project that includes a literature survey leading up to
the main part.

Statement & Applications: An explanation of the research topic and the main purpose of the
research concerning community Issues, achieving development (economical, social, political or
human resources) and nature of expected recommendations and the extent of the intended use of
research applications to layman.

Approach & Method: The method used, objectives, inquiries, prescriptions, tools, samples, and
steps taken to realize the tasks proposed in the research project.

Preliminary results & Discussions: Any results found prior to carrying out and conducting the
research project.

Work plan including time table: The time period for completing the research requirements should
not exceed the graduation time limit stipulated in the CGS by-laws.

Publications of Research: In case the proposed research is published or accepted for publication,
mention the journal or the conference where such research will be send to.

List of References: List all references according to the CGS format (Refer to APA format, at CGS
web site, www.graduate.edu.kw)

1. The Master’s Project Research Proposal must be typed, and should include all the above mentioned items,
otherwise, the form will be sent back to the program to be completed.

GUIDELINES ON USING PROJECT RESEARCH FUNDS


Advance payment from the student’s Project research budget shall be made to and accounted for by the

concerned supervisor. The allocated funds should be spent in accordance with  the following guidelines,

which indicate what is allowed and what is not allowed.

First: Funding Policy:


Those programs in which a non-thesis research project is an option, it is possible to fund a project with a
maximum of (750.00 K.D.). The project supervisor will be awarded (150.00K.D.)The program committee
must approve the project before applying it to the C.G.S.

Second: Expenditure which is allowed


1. Scientific reference books not available at University libraries. When the research work is completed,
the student should deliver such books to his/her College library.

2. Software. When the research work is completed, the software must be kept in the student’s academic
department.

3. Various consumables such as chemicals, animals, fish, plants, glassware, etc.

4. Hiring vehicles, boats, etc. whenever the need arises.

5. Charges for chemical, medical, engineering, and other analyses.

*Third: Expenditure which is not allowed


1. All types of equipment including computers, printers, and non­consumable accessories.

2. Salaries and wages of any person.

3. Subscriptions for scientific magazines.

4. Subscription for the INTERNET.

5. Stationery.

6. Photocopying.
