English Department Online Placement Test (C-Test)

This online placement test is meant to help you find out what level of English you
have in order to make your course selection at registration easier. It is meant as a
guide only and is not binding. Students are still required to sit a placement test in the
first session of each course. Final admission to a particular course depends on your
score on the in-class placement test and NOT on this online version. If you need
further assistance in determining which courses to sign up for, please contact John
Nixon.

Read each passage below and fill in the missing letters, so that the words created fit
grammatically and logically into the entire text. Half of the letters of each missing
word have been left out. For example, if the word is three letters long, then two
letters are missing. You should spend no more than five minutes per passage.
