INTRODUCTION
Background of the Study:
Online hotel reservation is a popular method for booking hotel rooms.
Travelers can book rooms on a computer by using online security to protect their
privacy and financial information. Online hotel reservations are also helpful for
making last minute travel arrangements. Prior to the Internet, travelers could write,
telephone the hotel directly, or use a travel agent to make a reservation.
Nowadays, online travel agents have pictures of hotels and rooms, information on
prices and deals, and even information on local resorts. Many also allow reviews
of the traveler to be recorded with the online travel agent.
Online hotel reservations are also helpful for making last minute travel
arrangements. Hotel may drop the price of a room if some rooms are still available.
There are several websites that specialize in searches for deals on rooms. An
online hotel reservation system, usually known as a central reservation system is
a computerized system that stores and distributes information of a hotel, resort or
other lodging facilities. A computerized reservation system give assistance to
hoteliers to manage all their online marketing and sales where they can upload
their service availabilities to be seen by the people.
A computer reservations system or central reservation system (CRS) is a
computerized system used to store and retrieve information and conduct
transactions related to air travel, hotels, car rental, or activities. Originally designed
and operated by airlines, CRSes were later extended for the use of travel agencies.
Major CRS operations that book and sell tickets for multiple airlines are known as
Global Distribution System (GDS). Airlines have divested most of their direct
holdings to dedicated GDS companies, who make their systems accessible to
consumers through Internet gateways. Modern GDSes typically allow users to
book hotel rooms, rental cars, airline tickets as well as activities and tours. They
also provide access to railway reservations and bus reservations in some markets,
although these are not always integrated with the main system.In hotels CRS allow
sales and reservation team can access availability of room rates, accommodation
and special rates from a central reservation office. CRS hosted on a cloud aid this
information to be accessible to hotel reservation team while they are on travel as
well.
Astrotel is a walk-up hotel which aims to provide futuristic designs, modern
style and romantic energy at very comfortable rates. This new branding strategy is
creating a new category - leveraging its unique concept to deliver top-rated lifestyle
hotel experience for its intended target market. They want to give the travelers a
new experience when they lodge in to their hotel. They offer different types of room
it’s like you’re in the future. It's actually more a motel than a hotel, but since there's
no parking space whatsoever, it calls itself a hotel, one where couples can spend
a few hours together for a small fee. The first branch of astrotel is on Cubao and
because their hotel is different from other hotels because of their different designs
of room their business became a hit so they started to spread their service and
now they have six branches located on Caloocan, Avenida, Cubao, Novaliches,
Calamba and Anonas
Statement of the Problem:
General Problem:
In every study problem exist, this research was entitled “Online Hotel
Reservation for Astrotel, Monumento Branch“this study will answer the general
problem of the astrotel.To replace the manual booking system through telephone
like How to create a website with an online hotel reservation, and how to create a
website that will provide some information of the hotel.For all of our clients its their
information their giving to us so how to secure all the information of the clients.And
to inform the customers , A system that will show the availability of the rooms. How
to create a website that is system monitored by an administrator?

Project Objective
General Objective:
The proponents make an undergraduate thesis entitled “Online Hotel
Reservation for Astrotel, Monumento Branch”. The objective of this website is to
help Astrotel and the customers and clients. To create a system with an online
hotel reservation for the clients, and to protect all the information of the clients .To
provide the information that the customers needed to know. We need to inform our
clients, to create a system that will show the availability of the rooms.With the help
of the website our clients can now book through Online and save time.
Specific Obejctive:
To create a web portal with an online hotel reservation so that the customers
can book anywhere and anytime.
To create a website that will provide some information of the hotel.
To create a system that will secure all the information of the clients
To create a system that will show the availability of the room to inform our
clients if there are still room they can book to.
To create a system that is monitored by a system administrator for the
approving and declining reservation.
