Bangalore Elevated Highway From Silk Board To ATTIBELE (KM 8/765 TO KM 33/130) of NH - 7
Introduction:
The Government of India through Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has
authorized NHAI to Implement a project for Construction of Elevated Highway Project from
Silk Board Junction to Electronic City Junction (km 8.765 to km 18.750) section of NH-7 and 6
laning from km 18/750 to Km 33/130 of NH-7 on Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis
through a Concessionaire. A Consortium of M/s Soma, NCC and Mytas formed a SPV called
BETL has been selected to execute the work of Bangalore Elevated Highway from Silk Board to
Electronic City (Km 8/765 to Km 18/750) including the road at grade up to electronic City also.
M/s BETL completed the construction of Elevated highway and at grade. While the road atgrade
from Electronic City to Attibele was completed by M/s GVR.
The Concessionaire has completed the construction work and the project facilities are
opened to traffic on 06/04/2010 and Tolling started. As per Concession Agreement the
Concessionaire has to maintain the entire Project Highway from Silk Board to Attibele. NHAI
has appointed M/s CDM Smith India Pvt Ltd Bangalore, Consultants as Independent Engineer
(IE) for Elevated Highway Project from Silk Board Junction to Electronic City junction (km
8.765 to km 18.750) section of NH-7 and 6 laning from km 18/750 to km 33/130 of NH-7 during
Operation and Maintenance period in March 2012.

Present Status:
The Project was completed and Provisional COD issued on 06/04/2010. As per
Concession Agreement M/s BETL started Tolling also. M/s BETL has to maintain the Project
Highway for the Concession period of 18 years from Silk Board to Attibele including Elevated
Highway. The Project is in the 4th year of operation.
