1. TITLE OF THE PROJECT:
1.1 College Management System:
College Management System is software has the perspective of attaining attraction of those colleges
which don’t have one good performing software for keeping their information secure and make
their management easier. College Management System provides one attractive environment where you can
manipulate data and information about students and staff easily. So we can say the Core purpose of
designing “College Management System” is to manage the task related to the college students/employees
and to reduce time to searching of appropriate candidates in college view.

2. OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT:

Main aim in developing “College Management System” is to provide an easy way not only to automate
all functionalities of a college, but also to provide full functional reports to top management of college with
the finest of details about any aspect of college.

3. INTRODUCTION:
This system provides the detail structure of the college campus and its departments. College Management
System synchronizes the working of all the departments. It looks on all aspects of a college, its students,
faculties, Departments, marks and other co – curricular activities.

4. STRUCTURE OF THE PROJECT:

This project consists the different modules which are given as below:
4.1. Module Description:
It consists of module page like login page, student registration form, Faculty registration form, reports as
below -
4.1.1 Login:
Login module is used to check whether the user is an authorized person to use the system or not, for this
the user should give the correct user name and password.
The different types of users are:

1. Admin: In this page, the administration have full authorized to access all the pages. The authorized
admin user can update, delete and maintain the pages.

2. Student: In this page, the respective students can view, edit their information, can complain their issues
and can find the schedule of classes and different notification provided by the department.

3. Faculty: In this page the respective faculty can view their information about their salary, lecture timing
and can store their data like question papers, assignments, notes etc.
4.1.2 Form:
There are following different types of form as given below:

1. Student Fee Form

2. Student Marks Form
3. Student ID Form
4. Faculty Detail Form
5. Course Detail Form
The Student Registration Form is designed for registering the new student’s, faculty’s details and course
details.

5. REPORTS:
All the above mentioned data are stored in the back end and can be retrieved as reports with filtering options.
The Following are the reports can be taken from this system:
Student Report
Employee Report
Course Detail Report
Fee Detail Report
Marks Detail Report

6. DATA FLOW DIAGRAM:

A data flow diagram is a primary graphic tool for the analysis phase of the system development
life cycle. The DFD can be given as:
6.1 DFD at 0 Level: it is a top level data flow diagram. It only contains one process node
("Process 0") that generalizes the function of the entire system in relationship to external entities.
6.2 DFD at 1 Level: Level 1 DFD’s aim to give an overview of the full system. They look at
the system in more detail. It is shown below

6.2 DFD at 2 Level: We now create Level 2 Data Flow Diagrams. A possible solution is as shown below.
HARDWARE REQUIREMENT
OS-Windows
Hard Disk-80 GB
RAM-1GB

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENT
MyEclipse
MySQL

7. CONCLUSION:
It was a wonderful and learning experience for us while working on this project. This project took us
through the various phases of project development and gave me real insight into the world of software
engineering. The joy of working and the thrill involved while tackling the various problems and challenges
gave me a feel of developers industry.

8. FUTURE SCOPE:
This is generic type of software, suitable for all colleges. CMS has separate divisions to handle the college
transactions. Separate division is provided to maintain Students records, Teachers Records, and Fees
Records. All the working process can be automated.
