GGU Law's Visiting Scholar Program is intended to provide foreign nationals with opportunities to
participate in educational and cultural programs in the United States and return home to share their
experiences. It is also intended to encourage Americans to participate in educational and cultural
programs in other countries.
All visiting scholars must register for each term they are present.
The Priority Application deadline is a recommended deadline for the LLM Programs. We encourage our
applicants to apply early. Applications will continue to be reviewed so long as there is space in the
program. The priority deadlines are as follows:
The Admissions Committee only reviews complete applications (all necessary documents are submitted).
Instructions:
If an applicant uses this form, then in addition to this application form, applicants must submit the
following documents directly to GGU:
• Personal Statement: The personal statement should provide a narrative description of your
reasons for wanting to participate in educational and cultural programs in the United States. The
personal statement should be typed and may not exceed 10 double-spaced, 8.5-11-inch
(or A4) pages.
• Research Statement: The application statement should provide a narrative description of your
intended fields of inquiry and research objectives in specific terms. The research statement
should be typed and may not exceed 10 double-spaced, 8.5-11-inch (or A4) pages. You
are required also submit a bibliography in support of your application, but these are not
acceptable substitutes for the narrative application statement.
• A resume or C.V.
The following items must be sent to GGU directly from the appropriate institutions:
• Official transcripts from all academic institutions where you have studied law. (American
students do not need to send undergraduate transcripts.) A certified translation must be attached
if the transcript is not in English.
• Official TOEFL score report (if English is not your first language) must be sent directly from
ETS. Provide ETS with GGU’s Institution Code 4329 & Department Code 03.
